Toshiba SL417U review: Toshiba SL417U

Toshiba SL417U

The ; evinced relatively deep black levels in dark scenes and very good video processing. Its matte screen works well in bright rooms. Its Internet suite includes built-in Wi-Fi.

The SL471U's backlight fluctuated more than usual, causing black levels to vary depending on scene content. Colors were less accurate and lacked saturation. Its screen is brighter on the edges and the picture loses fidelity from off-angle worse than...

Albeit one of the least expensive Internet-capable LED TVs available, the Toshiba SL417U lags behind most of its competitors in terms of performance.

Toshiba LED HDTV 55SL412U Review: Few Features, Great Price

At a time when most HDTVs are piling on features, the Toshiba 55SL412U takes a contrarian approach. This 55-inch, LED-backlit LCD TV doesn't support 3D, does not connect to the Internet, provides mediocre audio, and offers only a basic set of...

Big, ecofriendly LED TV at a good price ; Pretty good image quality ; Reasonably tweakable

Limited port selection ; Mediocre remote ; No Web or 3D support ; Poor audio and documentation

The Toshiba 55SL412U delivers decent image quality on a large, energy-efficient, LED-backlit LCD screen at a reasonable price. It's a good choice--if you can live without connected-TV features, 3D support, good audio, and other amenities.

Toshiba 55ZV635D review

The big ZV series of LCD TVs offers alluring value and 'Deep Lagoon' styling

Great screen size for price ; Dolby Volume ; Useful USB and SD card slots

No Ethernet port ; Average contrast ratio ; Upscaled SD material looks poor at this size

A very well priced set when you consider the size of the panel but this screen doesn't quite have the technological wow-factor that the newer sets do

Poor Quality

Cheap, great picture

main board & power supply replaced 8 weeks in to owning it. 1 year later power supply fails again & toshiba will not cover the repair

Great TV for the price

Great picture and audio. Easy to set up and install. Easy to see remote, (not a small remote)

No RCA audio out. Only digital fiber so if your receiver is more than a few years old you may need an adapter

Nice but died after 9 months

Gorgeous looking, thin and light. Nice colors. Good customer service from Toshiba

Clouding easily noticeable. Picture kept going out more and more until it would not display almost all of the time. Toshiba tried to repair it twice but failed ; They had no replacements available for me, so my only option was for a partial refund....

Bright light shows through on corners

I'm going to have to call newegg or toshiba and get this fixed or returned. For the price I paid, I want something that doesn't look like junk. I'll find out this weekend how bad it is when I have a house warming and everyone comes over and sees it....

It's big and was the right price. Very small frame and relatively light weight for what I expected a 55" tv to be. I wall hung it easily

VERY noticeable spotlighting showing through on darker video. Extremely annoying. I've never seen it before on display LED tv's but I'm guessing it's the edge lighting LEDs shighing too bright. I've tried to change all the settings to lower it but it...

Buy it if you have surround sound

Turn off clear frame or you will have ghosting. Many complaint about the Internet TV Apps. Buy a Wii, PS3 ,XBOX 360, or a bluray player. Last I checked that is a bonus ability.

One of the smallest 55" frames out there. light weight, thin and sexy picture

Slight light leaks, only noticable in very dark sceens ; Sounds like a laptop speakers but louder ; If you own a Wii you need to buy a Component Video cables, if you dont already have it, plus the video will look better anyways. 480i vs 480p

Can't beat it for the price

I picked up this set from Newegg last December using a coupon code, and the price made it irresistable. If you want a huge screen with amazing image quality and you plan on using external audio (that supports a TOSlink optical input), this set is hard...

Excellent color and picture detail. No dead pixels at all (not a one among the 2+ million!). Very lightweight (under 50 pounds without stand - about as much as a 20" CRT bedroom set). This is my third Toshiba LCD big screen and here's why... Toshiba...

Sound is only fair. Volume level is adequate, but very tinny - close to what I get on my Vizio 19" LED set. Only optical audio out, no variable level RCA jacks, so you can't just plug in a set of larger speakers. We connected the TV's TOSlink output to...

Pretty excellent TV

Got this TV really cheap via Newegg code, so the price was EASILY worth it for this amazing TV!

Excellent customer service when I called in with a question. TV is very sharp and has plenty of HDMI inputs. Netflix and internet apps on the TV make it a joy to use! I especially enjoy the Pandora application

One side of the screen has a bit of brightness from the backlight coming through too strongly. Isn't really noticeable unless I'm watching a dark movie
