Vizio E0i-B series review

When Panasonic's plasma TVs gave up the ghost last year, I immediately began wondering what 2014 TVs could possibly take their place as my go-to recommendation as the best combination of picture quality and value. In my CES preview, I wrote "Help me...

The models of the Vizio E series equipped with local dimming deliver superb picture quality for a very affordable price. The image evinces deep black levels with little to no blooming and great bright-room performance, and it provides for plenty of...

Color accuracy and video processing not quite as good as some competitors; poor sound quality; ho-hum styling; lackluster remote.

With picture quality that outdoes that of numerous more-expensive TVs, Vizio's E series likely represents the best value of 2014.

"Has required 2 soft (pull-the-plug) resets and 1 hard reset (restore system defaults) in the last 10 months"

The summary says it all: in more detail, you, the owners, are never asked if you want an update of the distinctly second-rate Yahoo apps. It just happens willy-nilly. Last night, the update got stuck and showed the same "Searching for updates ......

Good picture with CNET's calibration (crummy without)

Yahoo apps update got stuck and rendered the set unusable

5 stars for most of us, 1 star if using an antenna

Good: -- Picture is excellent, just as reviewers are saying, if not as pleasing to me as my 8-year-old Panasonic plasma with only 720p. -- Sports look especially good. Bright and clear, never any blur. For movies, though, I'd rather use the plasma. --...

Excellent TV for the price, less than 500!

Cnet had this review spot on. It performs exactly like it was described in the review. I was debating whether or not to get a 4k tv, but i decided to go this route because the 4k content is not truly out. This was a cheap upgrade compared to my 7 year...

easy setup, great picture and gaming tv

Not physically pleasing, remote is terrible, speakers are not great.

60" Model

I was close, VERY close to returning this. I was hoping, almost expecting to be wowed by the picture due to the LED array and its newer technology overall. Well it left me lukewarm at best. BUT after a TON of tweaking and using some calibration...

Does not have the "Soap Opera" effect, Vivid and very clear picture, Blacks are very deep, Speaker have good volume, Nearly borderless.

Apps are useless, some don't work and signal reception is bad, WiFi is only 2.4 GHz.

wont connect to net, pwoers itself off

This is going right back. A brand new TV should not randomly shut off. That is a sign of a short or bad board.

nice picture for the price

Apps wont work at all, randomly shuts off

"Good TV for the price - WiFi and remote sucks"

Smart TV The WiFi setup was a breeze right out of the box. However, on day 2 the TV would not connect to my network. I have setup probably 100 networks, both wired and wireless, over the years. I may not be the best but I am pretty good. After 1 day, I...

Price, good picture quality, Netflix access easy

Bad Remote, WiFi sucks, dark scenes too dark at times
