Vizio M80-D3 M-Series 4K TV review

Vizio's M65-D0 offers some of the best dollar-for-dollar picture quality you can find.

Excellent contrast, rich black levels ; Brilliant and fairly accurate colors ; Sharp 4K picture ; Support for both HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR ; Free Android tablet included

Tablet UI quirks can be a headache ; Only one HDMI input with HDR support ; No TV tuner

While Vizio’s new SmartCast tablet system gave us more headaches than its cool factor made up for, the M65-D0 offers perhaps the most impressive picture quality in its price range, which makes it well worth considering — especially for videophiles on a...

Vizio M series review: Excellent image quality gets a lower price

The Vizio M series has a free tablet remote, support for both HDR formats, and excellent picture quality for an affordable price.

The affordable Vizio M series has excellent overall picture quality that competes well against even more expensive TVs. It can handle both high-dynamic-range formats. The remote is a fully functional Android tablet. The Google Cast system offers more...

Using the tablet for settings and streaming apps is often more of a hassle than traditional onscreen menus. No built-in tuner, so you can't watch over-the-air antenna broadcasts unless you attach a separate tuner.

Despite the inconvenience of its tablet-based menus and apps, the Vizio M series' excellent image quality and value make it a top choice for the price.

Vizio M50-D1

Vizio's M-series of 4K TVs offer fantastic contrast and deep blacks, but for HDR televisions their color gamut could be wider.

Excellent black levels and contrast. Colors are close to accurate for Rec.709 standards. Comes with an Android tablet.

Color range isn't as wide as other HDR-capable TVs. Included tablet is underpowered for use as anything other than a remote control.

The Vizio M-series offers a solid value for the price, thanks to its dark black levels and Google Cast-based connected features, and the included Android tablet is a nice bonus. The M-series' biggest weakness is color, which is accurate to Rec.709...

VIZIO M55-D0

The 2016 version of the M series is Vizio's best value yet. Its picture quality beats that of any TV at this price, even sets from Samsung, Sony and LG that cost more, making it a superb choice for TV shoppers who prize image quality over brand cachet,...

Vizio M-Series 2016 review

Vizio is well-known for its budget TVs, but in the last couple of years the company has put out a few televisions that aim higher than the bargain basement. These midrange Vizios, like the M series last year and the P series from earlier in 2016, have...

Vizio SmartCast M65-D0 Review

TVs are getting smarter, either via an extra dongle like a Chromecast or through their own power. While Samsung, LG, Sony, and Sharp may be the household names when it comes to smart TVs, Vizio isn't one that can be easily ignored. It's practice of...

Vizio M-Series 2016 4K UHD HDR Smart TV Review (M50-DI, M55-DO, M60-D1, M65-D0, M70-D3, M80-D3)

After first surprising consumers and competitors with their then excellent first edition P-Series 4K full-array LED backlit 4K TVs in late 2014, Vizio went on to release several new 4K TV editions for 2015 and now 2016 , all of which were good to...

Excellent contrast ; SmartCast is pretty cool ; Great color accuracy ; Smooth motion control technology ; Excellent prices ; Rich deep blacks ; Many sizes and prices ; supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision

SmartCast sometimes glitches ; Peak brightness could be better ; No HDR color support (wide Color Gamut)

The 2016 Vizio M-Series TVs are not only superb for their price as 2016 4K TVs but are excellent and competitive 4K TV models even by the standards of premium ultra HD TVs for this year. We definitely recommend them if you want 4K resolution, HDR and...

Performance Features Ergonomics Value
