D-Link DCS-5300 320 x 240 MAX Resolution RJ45 10/100 Fast Ethernet Internet Camera

Make sure to update the firmware to v1.06 since there is an issue with Microsoft Silverlight and IE. I had to the firmware from the D-Link Australian site.

When it works, it works well. The software that was available when it was new is/was awful. The latest software, D-ViewCam 2.03, runs great and was VERY easy to setup. Works so well now that I'm thinking about getting a few more D-Link cameras

D-Link's support is horrible on their website. Firmware is not the latest on their site. Does not work with any other browser than IE

If you are looking for quality video, look elsewhere

I use the DCS-6620G in a manufacturing facility and have had good luck with this unit. The DCS-6620G is also unresponsive at times. I have the camera attached to a wired 6 Gb DSL connection and at times you think you are on dial up.

Easy to setup. It works OK if you have very basic requirements

The digital zoom is useless. Picture quality is marginal. Camera is frequently unresponsive. Cannot rotate 360 degrees

What a deal

I have a total of five Linksys internet cameras, both wired and wireless, and all have worked flawlessly. Very simple to add image or live video content from these cameras to your web site.

You will not likely be able to find a better camera in this price range. I have run this camera for over a year now, and have had no problems at all. Very easy to set up with my Linksys wireless router and have been viewing video over the internet ever...

Considering the cost of the camera, I have no gripes whatsoever

Problems for me - two models tried

Decided to try D-Link DCS-5300G . Worked but with two poeple on camera it was panning all over the place. Seems they don't have it so only one person can control camera at a time. Dlink customer support said a firmware fix maybe out in a few...

Neweggs return policy is great to be able to fall back on in these situations

Unit would not power up. DOA. Dlink tech support ran through a number of tests, no luck. Had it sitting on my desk that afternoon and gave it a small tap with my pen... it powered up.... but went off a couple of times over the next few days so back it...

poor sound, poor colors in image

I'll try to return this and get another DCS 5220 (even though it has only one way sound)

Price was good

I bought this to have the 2 way sound, but the built in microphone has a loud hum (no matter where I put the camera) and the color rendition is poor. Image sharpness is not as good as DCS-5220. I have two DCS 5220 and they both work very well

Love this camera!!!

Another reviewer is right: dog these cameras and you just don't understand the price of video. This is a good camera regardless of the price for it's intended use. GO NEWEGG!!!!!!!!!!!

I own two of these cameras. I have one in my back yard and the other in my garage. From all over the world I watch my dogs when I'm away. This camera, and it's twin have good resolution, they're reliable, clarity is good. These cameras are good for...

I have Linksys networking in my house. You have to understand more than average about networking to get these cameras to work on a Linksys. Suggest getting D-Link networking or call D-Link tech support for help; they are very good!! Cameras are very...

Buggy software

Probably works fine with most wireless routers, but don't buy this if you want to use it with a Linksys WRT54GS

Low price (but it's since gone up). Good service from Newegg. Works fine on wired port

Wireless won't work reliably. I exchanged it and the replacement is the same. I'm a network engineer, I know what I'm doing. The setup software wouldn't find my SSID when manually entered. Scanning found it, but with a garbage character for one digit....

A great deal

I didn't realize at first that there are two software packages. One for up to 4 cameras that looks like a toy, and another that looks more like a real program and handles 16 cameras, plus adds a TON more features.

Great price. Tons of features. Easy to set up

Software is a little cheesy (why do manufacturers feel that they must make their software look like a baby toy?)

Good Camera

Good signal range as far as I've noticed, though I haven't tested it under any long range conditions yet.

This camera is very easy to set up. The software included makes the setup a breeze. Picture is great in lit rooms. I use Firefox and the browser compatibility is great

Picture is rather grainy in low light conditions

decent small webcam

Configuration can be somewhat technical, having it sending to a d-link router makes it easier as there is more support information available on their site. Knowledge of how to work wiht IP numbers is helpful.

On setup of first one it kept saying the camera's IP number needed to be reset instead of launching the setup wizard, d-link support said it was a bad one so back it went. Second one did not have the issue and is up and running

First one doa, but return easily handled through newegg
