NS-2BRDVD

The inexpensive Insignia NS-2BRDVD Blu-ray player offers terrific high-def visuals and an excellent design--but it handles DVD upconversion poorly.

Excellent images from Blu-ray Disc ; Well-designed remote

Poor at upconverting standard DVDs

If you're looking for a bargain in a Blu-ray player, the Insignia NS-2BRDVD is the best you can buy--but only if you're willing to rely on another source for upscaling your standard-definition DVDs

Insignia NS-2BRDVD

When you opt for a budget product rather than a name brand, it usually means you're looking for "good enough" instead of perfect. The Insignia NS-2BRDVD, from one of Best Buy's in-house suppliers, is a classic example of the former. The Blu-ray player...

Relatively inexpensive; solid Blu-ray image quality with most movies; USB port for accessing photos and music

Does not currently support Profile 2.0; lacks full onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio; DVD playback will disappoint videophiles; some annoying operational glitches; slow to load some Blu-ray movies; can't upgrade firmware with...

The Insignia NS-2BRDVD is an underfeatured and slow-loading Blu-ray player, but it provides basic Blu-ray playback at a bargain.

99. Best Buy, with great telephone support

I bought my Blue-Ray for $99.00 and called for a firmware CD, was put in touch with a great guy in Buenos Aires who told me a more current firmware was available for download and walked me through the process on my MAC, (he was using a Mac also). ......

Ease of setting up, ease of use, beautiful playback on my 1080p

Basic, decent quality.

Not much better than a standard DVD player. If you want a Blu-ray player to get Blu-ray experience, spend the money. If you're not ready to spend the money, hold off until you are.

Easy setup

Not true Blu-ray experience

Would be Ok if not handled by Best Buy

Buy mine or someone else s insignia player used for much less than retail whenever they upgrade to something decent. I wish I had done more research before I bought this.

Cheap, I paid $200 for mine now it has dropped $50 to $150. I bought mine with 0% interest financing for 3 years along with my LG TV

Horrid "Geek Squad" or any other service from Best Buy. I was never notified it needed an upgrade, all the blue ray discs just quit working, when I tried to get an upgrade cd it was a half day process to order [ I do not have an image burnable cd
