reads great, burning not so great

Should have looked in to the bluray drives before purchase

I bought this drive without really knowing that bluray is not supported for free. But whatever it reads them and works. The real problem I've been having is unreliable burns. I've used 3 different software and all throw a random burn error

Img burn, nero, and windows disc burning all throw errors shortly after lead in done. Coaster creator. Bluray support not free

Works Great!

WinDVD is a good one, so is PowerDVD and Aurora. Personally I went with WinDVD, it's around $60 but without something like this the Drive by itself is useless.

I was going to get a second DVD writer but I wanted to play my Blu-Rays so I purchased this one as it had a great price and good ratings. Besides I trust LG products, have never owned one that has ever gone bad on me

This is not a con for the drive itself, but you should know that there is no Blu-Ray software with it because this is an OEM. No Microsoft OS has Blu-Ray technology built in, you are going to have to buy a third party software. Microsoft is too stingy...

Works as expected so far.

I just needed a Bluray reader. The absence of player software was not an issue for me. Just remember that you don't get anything with the drive: no software, no SATA cables.

Installed without a hassle, and so far it works with both DVD and Bluray discs

None so far. The test, I guess, will be how long it lasts

Works as expected

Works as expected with an optical drive. Installation is easy (depends on your case though) and it's perfect for my needs. Read my Memtest86+ disc with no trouble at all

None at the moment

Worked OK until it died.

Worked as it should, although it didn't come with software and I needed a 3rd party Blu-ray movie software

Bought it in 5/14 and just died. Won't read, write, or even spin up a disc
