Works

Yep, I was one of the ignorant ones who bought this thinking that I could watch Blu-Ray media. lol. This is the first Blu-Ray device I've ever owned. I just assumed that VLC or WMP would play the movies, with at most some driver downloads, but nope,...

Reads data from discs. Looks good. Blue LED matches my other system LEDs

Somewhat loud at times

Does the trick.. Plays Blueray with no issues (using AnyDVD HD)

No software included. I knew this going in. Computer power it makes a strange noise for a second. Can be loud reading DVDs at times. I never hear it as I'm sitting away from it (HTPC). Been ripping my DVD collection to MKV files and it copys in about...

Mehh, died after 2.5 months

LG customer services was great to work with but still sucks you have to wait for it to get to them then wait for replacement to be sent out to you. If you are avid movie watcher, that's 2-3 weeks withou a bluray drive.

Plug and play ; Cheap ; Worked fine for first 2 months

Max read I ever saw was around 10x but usually more like 4-6x ; After 2.5 months it stopped working and crashed my computer every time I insert a disk. LG is sending replacement, hope that one lasts

Failed - 7 months

Used drive probably a total of 15-20 times over 7 months before it failed. Poor quality. Costs more to ship in for service than replace, LG is unapologetic about warranty replacement policies.

Worked when installed

Failed after 7 months of very light usage

UH12NS30-OEM

Upgraded to be able to play Blue-Ray disks and still have DVD/CD writing...hopefully it will give years of smooth operation...got the extended three year warranty, it kicks in after the one year manu warranty expires, so for $10 four years of total...

it was time to upgrade, with the $15 off promo code it was a steal...plug and play, burned a DVD to test right away, as with most DVD/CD writer/players today it does makes some noise on spinup, but otherwise very quiet

obviously none so far

Easy Upgrade to my Media Server

Quick, easy install; was up and running in 15 minutes out of the box. Bought on sale at $35

I just added this drive to as a PCTV Gateway system that I use as a media server for my home theatre. Worked right away, recognized and played DVD and BD with no problem. Helps cut down on clutter and space usage with eliminating a free standing BD...

OEM. so no cables, documentation or anything else in the package; very bare bones

Works Fine

This will need additional software to play Blu-ray format movies. Contrary to popular belief, however, there are some free solutions available. The issue relates to the encoding of Blu-ray format movies, so this is more of a software problem than a...

inexpensive for a Blu-ray drive ; reasonable read/write speeds ; front panel has an attractive brushed aluminum appearance

slightly noisy when it first spins up a disc, but about normal after that ; doesn't come with a SATA cable or mounting screws, as per the OEM
