Samsung BD-D6 review: Samsung BD-D6

The Samsung BD-D6700 sports dual HDMI outputs, built-in Wi-Fi, and one of the most extensive suites of streaming video services in comparable Blu-ray players this year, including Netflix, Hulu Plus, MLB.TV, Vudu and CinemaNow. Its 1GB of onboard memory...

It's tough to justify the BD-D6700's high price, especially with the Sony PS3 being available for only slightly more. And while the dual HDMI outputs are nice, most buyers that need them will be just as satisfied with a player with a single HDMI output...

The Samsung BD-D6700 is an excellent all-around Blu-ray player with dual HDMI outputs, but for most buyers its upgrades won't justify its high price.

Samsung BD-D6700 Blu-ray 3D PlayerReview

Samsung builds on its past successes to put out a fast-loading high performance Blu-ray player packed with streaming apps and other features.

For those on the lookout for a fast Blu-ray Player with strong performance and a good selection of streaming apps, Samsung's BD-D6700 is worth a close look. The unique design makes it stand out from the boring black boxes of the competition and the...

Samsung BD-D6700 Blu-ray 3D Player

Blu-ray players just aren't what they used to be—they're a lot more. Sony's PlayStation 3 has long offered more than just standard Blu-ray playback. Today's breed of players bring not only state-of-the-art Blu-ray performance but also connectivity to...

While it may look a little unassuming, Samsung’s BD-D6700 packs more entertainment in its little package than just about any player I’ve used. The streaming capabilities are second to none, and Samsung has done some great things to make finding what...

Samsung BD-D6700

Today's consumer electronics are doing more and more for less. Technologies are crossing platforms and convergence is the new mantra. The Samsung BD-D6700 is a case in point. It is first and foremost a blu-ray player. But it also comes with an...

The Samsung BD-D6700 is second from the top in Samsung’s 2011 lineup. It is more than qualified to hold the fort with such a splendid performance.  Coupled with a bevy of interactive content options it will provide you with hours of non stop...

"Blu-ray Player that doesn't play Blu-rays."

I may not know enough to provide a thorough review of this product but I know that this Blu-ray player doesn't play Blu-rays. I confirmed with Samsung tech support that the device was updated with the most current firmware and that they were aware of...

As a novice tech person I agree with the CNET review in that most of the features that make this player special are above and beyond what the average user require.

The player's out of date firmware prevent it from playing many movies. In the first 4 weeks I came across 4 movies from Netflix that wouldn't play. I connected the device to my wi-fi network and had playback issues each time I tried to watch a movie.

"Will not play new blu ray disks, model needs update."

Update the firmware already Samsung!!!! I'm returning this and buying something that works. This model came highly recommended, and for this price it should at the very least play a blu ray disk.

Internet connectivity, ease of use for disks that will play

You will want to throw this piece of crap against the wall the third time you buy an unplayable disk. Chances are 50-50 that any new blu ray disk you buy will not be playable on this lemon. No firmware update available.

Samsung BD-D6700

Overall a great player. I have owned a lower model samsung, a wifi Vizio, PS3, and Pioneer BDP-320 to compare it to. By far my favorite player out of the bunch. Dual HDMI was a must since I have a 3D TV and a non 3D HDMI receiver, hard to find feature...

Slim design, slot loading tray, fast loading times, extensive media apps, dual HDMI output, 2D to 3D conversion, Top notch PQ and AQ, Overal ease of use, built in wifi

Silver top clashes with most piano black AV gear, a little on the pricey side for most

Samsung BD-D6700

I have this player for more than a week. It's a lot of fun play with online content and DLNA function of the player. Blu-ray disk loading speed is pretty fast, picture quality is great. For ppl who needs two HDMI out( one to TV for 3D, one to receiver...

Slim, media hub has more content than other, loading speed above average, picture quality is very good

Expensive, remote layout can be better designed, player runs little hot
