Zotac - Zbox HD-ND22

The Zotac HD-ND22 is part of the Zbox mini PC range that measures a mere 188mm x 188mm square and 44mm thick. That's a tiny form factor for a PC but Zotac has managed to pull ...

The Zotac Zbox HD-ND22 PC is a serious piece of kit that does a decent job and is so small that it is easy to keep out of the way. Our only concern is that you need to finish the barebones with some DDR3 RAM, a laptop hard drive or SSD and an Operating...

Watch QC

Although I only have about 10 of these at my branches, I'll continue buying these until something better appears. The Windows 7 Index is 3.8. The limitation is the Hard Drive. Make sure you have the holes availble on the back of your LED/LCD monitors.

I reluctantly give this 5 stars. Quality Control could be better. The internal hard drive screw was missing and it would not initially recognize the drive. After finding a small screw from an old monitor, I re-inserted the HD and tightened that sucker...

1. It seems to run hot, but hasn't failed yet ; 2. Some of these seem to run slow. It could be cheap memory or the 5400 RPM hard drive

It reboots by itself

Small form factor. Somewhat quiet. Efficient

It reboots by itself. Sometimes when rebooting by itself, it hangs on the BIOS screen. Sometimes it tells me that it can't boot to my boot drive. I've run Prime95 and Memtest until I was blue in the face. All the components seem to work. It continues...

addendum to WIN7/XBMC review

ZBOXHD ND22 is a nearly perfect HTPC, except for (CPU dependent) games (known issue, CPU is too slow). I was able to overclock the intel U2300 to 1050/1575 and the ION +50 so now some games play better (2x4GB DDR3 1333 RAM has yet to arrive; that...

FYI ; DDR3 1333 RAM works ; OC to 1100/1650 will not boot - had to use BIOS reset jumper ; excellent quality, design, and support ; HDMI sound works even when booted disconnected from TV/receiver

wish it had an i5 or i7 CPU option ; on/off from IR remote would be cool

awesome WIN7/XBMC box

added leftover 2GB RAM and Intel SSD - needed to set the SmartFan Control in BIOS to 50/80/30/200, now the unit is nearly silent - BIOS key is DEL (not in manual!) - installed WIN7, installed Ion drivers and updates from Windows Update, installed...

easy to open, add memory and HD ; boots fast - 25 seconds to the XBMC menu ; low CPU usage on HD and DVD playback ; small ; quiet

LEDs a bit bright - turned off WiFi so that LED would not blink ; no integrated IR receiver (that would be cool huh)

Can't find DVD to work

So far it works

I tried three different USB DVD drives and have not found one that works

Perfect with XBMC Live

Runs cooler vertical. My GPU temp dropped 20 degrees going vertical after initially laying on its side on the VESA mount.

Everything works out of the box with XBMC Live 10/10.1 ; Plays hi-def AC3 MKV files from my NAS beautifully via ethernet over HDMI ; Top side USB port is great for keyboard or remote FOB ; Can turn off the bright orange ring via bios

finally perfect

throw 4g of ram and a WD hd and your golden. Install win 7 through a flash drive so no need to buy a external. Love it

Does everything it is suppose to and I wanted it to do ; 1. Boxee 1080p check ; 2. youtube 1080p check ; 3. netflix HD check ; 4. stays cool and is quiet (once setting fan settings in bios) ; 5. very fast for a HTPC and can multi task very well and run...

Took some tinkering, but:

Setup: 100GB 5400 RPM Laptop SATA HDD 1 x 4 GB DIMM DDR3 IOgear wireless keyboard with built in trackball (failed first day I owned it, not the zbox's fault) Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with XBMC loading on startup Other notes: Can play Team Fortress 2 @...

Real dual core CPU; SMOKES Atom chips ; Quiet, Compact (about the same size as my Wii, maybe smaller) ; Plays 20 GB 1080P Blu-ray rips over network no problem, just make sure you have hardware acceleration / rendering ON or else it attempts to use the...

Video drivers from nvidia's site cause video to cut out 2 seconds after boot, not sure what the deal is, ones from zotac's site work fine ; weird issues coming out of sleep, but BIOS update resolved ; XBMC live didn't see network, not sure why? didn't...

No Complaints Here!

I originally ordered an SSD drive for this device. Unfortunately, the SSD failed within 30 minutes and I had to revert to a 250GB laptop drive. Even though the storage is slower than I'd like, the unit performs well with Windows 7 Ultimate, x64. We use...

This little ace does exactly what it says. It's a well-constructed mini PC perfect for media applications. It runs cool and quiet and is very responsive given its 1.2GHz CPU

Little to say here, other than Zotac could have included a DVI to VGA adapter to ease the setup process and expand compatibility
