Zotac ZBox Sphere Oi520 Series review

Zotac thinks outside the box with a spherical mini PC

Smart looking device ; Solid performer ; Plenty of ports ; Nicely priced

Fragile build quality ; Slight lid design issue ; Not exactly a powerhouse

Scores in depth Today, we live in a post-modern, multi-cultural world where traditional norms have been turned upside down. Half-Cantonese, with an Italian name and heavy Welsh accent? Unlikely to even turn heads. So what's the problem when something...

ZOTAC ZBOX Sphere OI520 Plus review: New wine in a brand new bottle - Tech2

We take a look at ZOTAC's first ZBOX small form factor PC with a semi-circular shape. The Sphere OI520 houses a 4th gen Intel Core i5 processor inside.

ZOTAC has priced the ZBOX Sphere OI520 Plus model at Rs 32,219 whereas the non-Plus ZBOX Sphere OI520 (without the HDD and RAM) will come to around Rs 29,999. Unlike its previous offerings, the ZBOX Sphere OI520 has decent pricing for its performance...

Zotac ZBOX Sphere OI520 review

Is Zotac's distinctive Zbox Sphere mini-PC a well-rounded computing experience or just a load of old balls?

Unique design ; Whisper quiet ; Easy to upgrade

Not very gamey ; Pricey compared to other options

The performance isn’t out of this world, but Zotac’s globular take on the mini PC is still a spherical spectacle

Zotac ZBox Sphere OI520 Plus review

A capable media centre PC with an eye-catching design that can play Ultra HD video

Otherwise, the ZBox Sphere OI520 is a good choice if you’re taken by the unique design and don’t want to spend a lot on a PC. It runs almost silently, generates very little heat and is impressively well put together. However, we’d probably go for the...

Zotac ZBOX OI520 Plus

Zotac's odd-ball is refreshing

Intel Core i5 ; 500GB HDD ; Nicely designed

Only one RAM DIMM

Zotac ZBOX Sphere OI520 Plus Review: The Oddball PC

One of the most unusual-looking PCs we've ever seen, the new ZBOX Sphere really does break out of the mould, and offers some pretty good performance too.

Unique look Good performance Easy to access and upgrade RAM, storage and PCIe card

No OS included Distracting LED ring can't be controlled

The ZBOX Sphere is by no means an unobtrusive device - the glowing blue ring around its equator pretty much rules out keeping it in a bedroom or sitting it on a TV stand to serve as an HTPC. This is a showpiece and you'll have to treat it as such....
