Zotac Zbox ID80 Plus

Today's high-definition TVs may be relatively “smart”—fitted out with built-in Wi-Fi and interactive Web apps—but they're not ready to make the PC obsolete quite yet. If you want to use your TV for watching and listening to your own digital media...

Very compact chassis ; Runs quietly ; Great video-playback performance for a small-form-factor PC ; Six USB ports, including two 3.0

Must supply and install your own operating system ; No optical drive ; Relatively small-capacity hard drive ; Included remote uses coin-cell batteries

The Zbox ID80 Plus is a compact and quiet HTPC system that’s ideal for DIYers on a budget. Just be prepared to supply your own optical drive, keyboard, mouse, and OS.

Zotac ZBOX ID80-plus a very good purchase!

Zotac product is doing exactly what I purchased it for. I am able to watch movies and TV shows using XBMC software. I am very satisfied and even though I am not very good with computers, it was easy to upload Windows 7 using a USB key (with some...

Not easy to install

I was unable to install an OS on this. It doesn't boot off a USB stick. So i bought a USB DVD and it read the DVD but then it said it needs drivers for the DVD ROM. When you click on Browse it didn't see the DVD so i couldn't install drivers. Not really...

A nice little computer

I am pleased with this system. It does what I bought it for, which is to be a simple watt-sipping computer to be able to surf, email, write, and torrent. I didn't expect this system to be like my AMD PhenomII X6 system with 16GB of memory, which feels...

zbox

Everything was working when I first got it, but after updating the BIOS and reinstalling windows7, it won't boot. Returned for refund.

small, low power consumption, cheap ; XBMC streaming 1080p mkv wirelessly without issue ; comes with VESA mount and a USB IR receiver that works with my harmony remote as MCE keyboard ; quick boot with SSD installed

this box runs very hot! it even makes my SSD hot after 15min of watching video ; case and remote feel kinda cheap, plus the case attract fingerprints ; AHCI mode didn't work for my Intel SSD, only IDE mode worked ; i hate LED light on HTPC. You can...

Freakin Awesome

When I installed first thing I did was set CPU fan speed to 100% in BIOS, sure it makes it more noisy (no more noisy then a graphics card fan at 70% speed) but it keeps it better cooled. Then ran Memtest and tested all the RAM for hours. USB 3.0 ports...

Very small, works great as a small computer with a tiny energy footprint for a media server and file server that I leave on 24/7. Popped in 2x2gb Mushkin ram sticks, used external DVD drive to install windows 7 64 Ultimate. Installed everything I need...

Blue light ring ; Remote uses CR2032 batteries, though they are included ; Remote buttons and overall size is tiny

BIOS problems!

Do your research on BIOS problems. I wish I would have done it before getting this device. You will see that a lot of people are having the same issues I mentioned above. Apparently, there was a BIOS update, but it didn't fix any problems so they...

1. Small form factor ; 2. Silent ; 3. Higher video performance compared to other Atom processor systems ; 4. It can be mounted onto the backside of wall-mounted TV (I used some double sided tape and string to fasten it to the TV, so it's hidden from view)

1. BIOS problems ; Sleep/suspend does not work well (it works intermittently) ; Fan stays on after shutting down the computer, so I need to manually pull out the power cord ; System does not turn right back on after shutting down. I need to wait 1-3...

Exceeded expectations- 1080 playback still in question

This mini PC is designed and built by a Chinese company. When I unpacked it, I was pleasantly surprised as it bore no marks of the nowadays typical "made in China" stuff. Superb quality, great attention to detail in everything, including the box,...
