ZOTAC ZBOXHD-ID34BR-U Blu-Ray HTPC - Bjorn3D.com

With the market saturated with already fine-tuned NVIDIA 460's, buyers need a good reason to upgrade to the entry level 500 series. The MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II / OC provides these reasons and is more than just a powerful name. One of the best...

The ZOTAC ZBOXHD-ID34BR-U impressed us in many ways, including looks, overall size, features, and overall innovation. While its performance lacks, even with the fastest Intel ATOM processor, Blu-Ray video playback is fantastic, and online streaming...

ZOTAC ZBOXHD-ID34BR-U Blu-ray Mini-HTPC

Today we take a look at ZOTAC's new Blu-ray equipped mini-HTPC, the ZBOXHD-ID34BR.

If you can cope with the ZOTAC ZBOXHD-ID34BR's rather underwhelming benchmarks, you're getting a very usable, very compact HTPC with integrated Blu-ray playback for $500. While you can get a PlayStation 3 for a bit cheaper, the ZBOX is much smaller and...

Zotac ZBox Blu-Ray Mini PC (HD-ID34BR) Review

In this review, we'll be taking a look at the Zotac Zbox Blu-Ray HD (Model: HD-ID34BR). It's a mini-PC that features Intel's new ATOM D525 dual core processor running at 1.8Ghz, supporting hyper-threading technology and 800FSB. It uses Nvidia's ION...

Does as advertised and a bit more

It's a computer in a living room. For the price, over the years, and taking in account that it has a bluray player, it's been quite the satisfying little thing.

Small form factor ; Low power usage ; Discreet but soldered-on GPU; some tasks can be GPU-accelerated

CPU is really not powerful; don't compile a Linux kernel on this

Great Show

Want a HTPC that you can put out of the way...this is it. Want one that you can display with pride...this is it. Zotac did a great job designing this one. Wish they would put out a newer model that is capable of handling 8-16 GB of memory...it would...

Small form factor allows for out of the way positioning. Does everything that large PC would do. Windows & installed on the one that I own with ease. Did another for a friend and installed Windows 8...he loves it. I have owned mine for over a year and...

None that I can mention. If you are looking for high speed performance you should look to a larger computer. This computer fits the need of getting a HTPC at an economic price. Although I wish they would put them on sale every now and then. I know I...

Amazing Deal

At this price, if you can sacrifice the capacity, I'd strongly recommend a good sized SSD. The 250Gb that this comes with is fine, but solid state would really make this thing sing. I chose to stay with the analog drive because it works and it has...

This machine is really a lot of bang for the buck. I just got it in, and Windows 7 32bit was a snap to install. I upgraded the machine to 4Gb ram and that was cake as well. I haven't had an opportunity to try the HDMI ports yet, but the driver disk...

It does feel a bit flimsy, but I expected as much for $279. I really can't complain though. The machine is plenty fast for what we're using it for

Solid little machine

Very impressed of the price/quality here. It's gets a little warm and I wouldn't play a game on it, but it's a dream for applications like FreeNAS, music streamer, simple HTPC/XBMC, torrent downloader.

Small form factor, optical audio out, wifi, HDMI, DVI. Not a gaming rig, but it's plenty fast

The blue circle light is kind of annoying, although I'm sure I can change it in the BIOS (I haven't even tried). Would have preferred a larger HD

DOA'd Twice

None

I have received two units from NewEgg on this model and both times I have received in which they were dead on arrival. Booting it up both times I received an "Invalid System Disk" error. Buy a different brand

Another Update 8/21/12

In my last reviews I stated this machine cannot bitstream DTS-MA or TrueHD. I was incorrect. I just formatted and installed XBMC's latest version and it does indeed bitstream the HD audio codecs. I am bitstreaming HDMI and the DTS-MA/ True HD logo...

Nice HTPC box

Upgraded to 4G RAM, installed Ubuntu Linux 11.10 without any issues at all. Everything autodetected and working perfectly. Using HDMI for video and audio and works beautifully, after you select the HDMI output in the audio control panel, and vdpau...

Whisper-quiet, great audio and video over HDMI, all hardware supported in Linux
