Pioneer DVR-LX60 review

A source for all your home entertainment needs

Good 1080p upscaling ; Feature rich playback of music and picture files ; Slick design

Rather complicated to use ; Uncompetitive price

Great features and performance, but it's slightly let down by its complex operation and high price

Pioneer DVR-LX60D

The Pioneer DVR-LX60D DVD recorder boasts a 250GB hard drive, 1080p upscaling, PictBridge printing, and looks spanky in its glossy back coat.

Outlook The DVR-LX60D looks pretty classy in its piano-black coat and has several useful AV features. Upscaling capability is fantastic, but it's something that most DVD players can now do. Nevertheless, the DVR-LX60D could form an integral part of an...

Pioneer DV LX60D

very intuitive, great upscaling, plays anything, has a jukebox function so you can load MP3's and jpg's onto the hard drive. Features Gemstar, a type of EPG, but far better than the norm. Without a doubt, the best Divx player I have ever had.

None to speak of, maybe the remote control is a bit plasticky, and the jog and shuttle on the remote is very sensative

A great piece of kit, if you can get it for the right price! I got mine on Ebay, BNIB, for £275 plus £20 p&p

The remote control is sometimes slow (a software problem?), making it difficult to select programmes from the Electronic Programme Guide quickly, because of storage of several directional clicks, which suddenly "play back" to over-run the desired...
