atsc external tuner

I believe that the whistle is a heat problem and I am going to try running it with cover off, if this corrects the noise I will install a small fan to keep things cool.

Easy to set up, really pulls in weak signals, small footprint. Looks to be well made

Unit whistles after a few hours of use, sometimes freezes up ; usually pulling ac from wall then plugging in resets it

Don't waste your $$$$$$

Got 2 Zenith DTT900 boxes w/government coupons. One is on mounted antenna and other is on rabbit ears. Both work 10,000 times better than RJ Tech and remote works from anywhere, any angle and no whining sound.

Supports multiple output formats

Can barely tune in anything for any period of time with mounted antenna or rabbit ears. High pitched wine after being on for minutes. Remote needs to be within 3 to 6 ft almost straight on to work

Works fine!

I was in NTSC mode with the componenent cables in use and the TV had a magenta hue. Only when I figured out that I needed to be in ATSC mode did the color problem correct itself.

Does what you want it to do. I wanted to capture clear digital channels on my analog 32" tv that is good as new! This picks up all the MSP channels with a $6 Terk rabbit ear antenna from Amery WI. About 55 miles away from the Shorewood towers

Some have mentioned a high pitched hum. I heard this once, but haven't heard it since the first day. Some have mentioned high heat. I have the box on top of the TV next to the Antenna. I have not had any need to get close to the TV so cannot confirm...

Worked as expected

Found all the local channels off of my antenna.

Remote does seem to be a bit of a problem.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do.

This tuner is a great value. I highly recommend it for those looking to simply tune in digital broadcasts with no frills.

Reliable performance. Good analog picture. Locks on to weak signals very well ; I have the tuner locked on to a single station feeding a master antenna system. It has been powered up continuously and has caused no head end problems. If it continues to...

Runs hot so it needs room for ventilation. The menu is sometime difficult to navigate. Cheap remote

Works ok

Only outputs NTSC through RF not composite, svideo, or component.

Now I get HDTV

I have a 27" flat pannel "HDTV ready" moniter/TV. The pictures are clear.

The tuner small, easy to connect, and affordable. It brings in clearer standard channels from my antenna and clear, bright HD channels

But I can't get two standard channels that I could get before

Get what you pay for

Cheap, easy way to get digital TV on an analog TV set.

Remote is junky.

Doubles as a space heater

Video output quality is decent, given that it is all in SD.

All output is in SD.
