TomTom VIA 1605TM

Still not convinced smartphones are as good as GPS devices? You're not alone. The VIA 1605TM ($229.95 list) features the largest screen TomTom has ever used for a GPS device: 6 inches—and it's sharp. Magellan has been rocking 7-inch panels on its...

Massive, sharp screen. Accurate routing. 3D lane assistance looks great. No ads

No Bluetooth hands-free support. No HD Traffic plug-in support

The TomTom VIA 1605TM is a top-notch budget GPS device, thanks to its sharp 6-inch screen, solid feature set, and fair price.

Warranty not honored

Garmin has a better setup i.e. the microUSB connector is part of a cradle which then attaches in a sturdy fashion to the GPS. This is a much better design. TomTom is not a reputable company since it does not honor its warranty. Thay claimed that the...

Nice unit when working

It does have what I consider a design flaw. Power is supplied via a microUSB connector which is surface mounted to the motherboard. This connector becomes loose after plugging and unplugging the power cord over time. Then the unit will no longer charge...

I recommend if you want a great GPS this is one to buy. Also the updates are free. I never give five eggs but this is a great GPS.

I have three TOM TOMs two 5" and one 6" The 6" is outstanding. I am going to buy one for my wife. The 5" is great but it does not give you the quick updates you need

TOM TOM web site will only let you two products for updates on their site

Live in Ft Myers area, friends fly in to Miami, Ft Myers, Ft Lauderdale and Tampa. It accurately guides you to these locations with quick corrections if an incorrect turn is made. Have had it for 7 months, very satisfied. No problems with lifetime maps.\"

This unit has a great screen display.

I had to contact in order to get instructions on how to remove the suction cup mounting that came attached to the back of the unit as I have a dashboard mount that was not compatible with this new unit. I previously had a TomTom XL 4.3" unit...

Best Bang for the Buck!

My son was using the smaller TomTom, which we have had for years. He really likes this because of the bigger screen. Much easier to see and use than older, smaller version.
