Review Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook (Late 2012)

An anorexic XPS. Dell's XPS 13 is a 13-inch ultrabook in an 11-inch casing. This is a slim, light and portable notebook which was tested for its suitability in a work environment. ...

Very good casing quality ; Very good system performance ; Good mobility traits ; Low emissions in little load ; Backlit keyboard ; High-capacity and fast solid state drive ; Good battery life

Few interfaces ; Limited upgradeability ; Unusual keyboard ; Loud operating noise in load ; Reflective and viewing angle dependent screen ; Dimmed screen brightness on battery

That Dell needlessly wastes the chance for a better rating with the poor screen which makes it fall behind the competition

Dell XPS 13 Review

Attractive styling; good build; strong performance

Loud under load; not easy to open; TN panel; pricey

Dell’s XPS 13 certainly isn’t wanting for style. Sporting a slick wedge profile that measures .24–.71 inches front to back, the XPS 13 is all matte-silver, machined aluminum up top, with a carbon fiber base. A soft-touch surface on the bottom makes the...

Dell XPS 13 Review

With the introduction of the Dell XPS 13, Dell manages to come up with an impressive, extremely compact 13” laptop that is just slightly bigger than the Macbook Air 11. Sold at around the same price than the latter, it [...]

The Dell XPS 13 is impressive: in a form-factor slightly bigger than the Macbook Air 11”, Dell has managed to provide a powerful 13” thin-and-light platform that scales up to a Core i7 processor, 256GB of SSD storage and 4G as an option. At $999, it...

Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook Review

Everyone wants to get a slice of the Ultrabook pie and the latest entrant to join the club is Dell. They launched the XPS 13 Ultrabook just the other day in India in the hope to grab some of the limelight that Lenovo and Asus have been enjoying for a...

Dell XPS 13 (January 2013)

A little over a year ago, Dell debuted a then-quite-impressive little 13-inch laptop called the XPS 13 . Aimed at the part of the business market that's become increasingly enamored of the MacBook Air and Windows ultrabooks, the XPS 13 was technically...

The Dell XPS 13 has a sharp new 1080p display, updated Intel processors, and the same sleek design as before.

Few ports; a high price; no touch-screen option.

Attractive and compact, the new Dell XPS 13 ultrabook isn't that much different from last year's model, aside from new processors and a higher-res non-touch screen.

Dell XPS 13 (2013)

Dell's refreshed XPS 13 Ultrabook for Windows 8 crams a full HD display and a fast SSD into a compact design, but you'll pay a premium.

Compact attractive design; Bright full HD display; Comfortable keyboard; Fast SSD; Runs cool

Still no SD card slot; Below-average battery life; No touch screen option; Expensive

Click to EnlargeWe're glad that Dell updated its XPS 13 with a faster processor, 256GB SSD and a full HD display. We also continue to love the compact design with soft-touch finish. However, $1,599 is a lot to spend for a Windows 8 notebook that...

Dell Delivers an Affordable, Attractive Ultrabook

By covering all of the ultrabases in a good-looking package, Dell's XPS 13 keeps up with the Joneses while not really trying to show off.

Lovely design with great portability (and a carbon fiber undercarriage). Solid performance numbers compared to the competition. Better keyboard than most ultrabooks

Touchpad performs well as long as you don’t have to click on anything. Light on ports (and no SD card slot). Rather loud fan (but it only kicks in under heavy load). Wouldn’t mind a resolution upgrade

Dell XPS 13: One of the Best Ultrabooks Yet

Dell has a lot of faith in the XPS 13, its first entry into the emerging Ultrabook class of superthin laptops. Compared to what we're used to seeing from Dell, it's a design marvel: thin, light, sleek, and well built with high-quality materials. It...

Excellent look, feel, and build quality ; Surprisingly good keyboard

touchy trackpad ; mediocre display

If the display was higher resolution and offered better off-axis viewing angles, this would be our favorite Ultrabook.
