HP 250 G4 T6P08ES Notebook Review

Low cost office all-rounder. HP's 250 G4 is a basic, 15.6-inch office laptop. It offers a decent configuration for a reasonable price. However, we cannot say a lot of good things about the screen.

matte screen ; runs quietly ; low temperature development ; plenty of storage ; decent battery life ; TPM 2.0

dark screen ; no maintenance hatch

The installed Core i5 processor should completely satisfy the needs of most users. The graphics unit allows gaming - at least partially. The laptop runs quietly in routine use and barely heats up. Storage will not get tight that quickly, thanks to the...

HP 250 G4 review

A full-fat Intel Core processor makes this a bargain laptop

Full-fat Intel Core i3 processor ; Affordable ; Snappy keyboard ; Plenty of ports

Dull design ; Cramped display ; Quite heavy

For small businesses seeking a bit more oomph in their budget laptop purchase, the HP 250 G4 sneaks in a full-fat Intel processor usually found in models higher up the price ladder.

Solid Budget Laptop, Works Well with Linux

Upon recieving this laptop, I imaged the drive and then installed Ubuntu 15.10 as the sole OS. Most everything worked with a fresh install; the wireless card required a proprietary driver to work at all, but did have one available in the Ubuntu repos....

Price is decent. Battery life is good (I've seen better, but only on high end machines or netbooks). Decent display. Nice aesthetic case design. Has few issues running Ubuntu 15.10. Comfortable touchpad (I've used better, but also far worse).

Construction quality is slightly lower than I would prefer (all plastic, screen hinges feel weak). Opening the case up is difficult & requires popping open many plastic tabs that prefer to break. Boot times are a little slow.

Light weight laptop easy to use.

I would recommend this product to others. I would have added a step by step intro to the laptop for those purchasing a laptop for the first time to understand the lingo and functions, capabilities, and explain how to maneuver from window to window.

More out of the box ready laptop than my former laptops

Tutorials since I am not totally computer savvy.

Great affordable laptop!

-Comes with a bit of bloatware, but what laptop doesn't nowadays. -Would definitely recommend for a college student on a tight budget.

-More than powerful enough for daily computing. -Lightweight and extremely portable especially for college students. -Comes with 64bit OS so I can utilize any extra memory I want to upgrade. -Has LED backlight screen which makes writing papers and...

-Doesn't come with a SSD, but for the price not too much of a con.

Slow computer, poor responsiveness

I would not recommend this product. Get another one. The price is cheap for a reason, but being an Hp with an i5 core, I expected a higher quality product.

.

Keyboard requires a bit of pressure to depress keys... If you type fast get used to missing some letters. The mouse and selection keys in particular hL require a fair amount of force to depress and I immediately had to use an external mouse because it...

Not happy with this computer.

I cannot recommend this computer with all the problems I have been having. I wanted my sister to have a reliable computer, but don't think it's going to be this one. I feel so bad as she needed one and couldn't afford to purchase her own. My brother...

The price...may not be such a good deal, though.

I have had trouble setting it up right out of the box. Once it was set up, all it wanted to do is update itself. The computer was on for 13 hours and still was only on 45/115. I called HP Support in the morning and was told to turn it on and off. It...

NOT WORKING! UPDATE: NEWEGG REPLACED IT WITH A WORKING ONE!

HARD TO PHONE ANYONE! BUT WHEN I DID GET THROUGH THEY REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE ONE WITH A WORKING ONE!

GOOD BASIC LAPTOP FOR THE MONEY. The first one they shipped was defective but NewEgg replaced it with a working one.

I received it today and it already will not start and blinks an error code near the cap lock key! 3 blinks, pause, 3 blinks! But, they did replace it with a working one!
