Sony VAIO Fit 14

The Sony VAIO Fit 14 offers an attractive design, sharp screen and solid performance, but it suffers from subpar battery life.

Elegant and attractive chassis; Sharp 1600 x 900 touch screen; Solid performance and graphics; Robust software bundle

Shallow keyboard feedback; Below-average battery life; Narrow viewing angles

Click to EnlargeThe $849 Sony VAIO Fit 14 is an attractive notebook that delivers power and a compelling suite of apps to leverage its third-generation Core i5 processor. Unfortunately, below-average battery life and a shallow keyboard keep this...

Sony Vaio Fit 14 review: An exemplary thin-and-light laptop

Editor's note: While the Vaio Fit 14 starts at $649, our review unit is actually a more expensive configuration intended for sale at Best Buy that costs $849. While this is still a very good mainstream laptop, we are revising the rating downward to...

The Sony Vaio Fit 14 is an attractive thin-and-light laptop with excellent features, performance, and design for its price. It has a bright and very responsive touch screen and higher resolution than some competing models.

Those who need five-plus hours of battery life, a really light body, or extreme performance will still need to spend more money. Its speakers sound a bit thin and its battery isn't removable.

The Sony Vaio Fit 14 is an all-around excellent laptop for the money that will satisfy the basic demands of everyday use for many people and look good doing it.

"Awful inside and out"

Don't buy it after a month you'll want to turn it for a better model after two months you'll have to reinstall Windows because it crashed and you'll lose all your files after 3 months the screen goes black and it won't come on again.

It can ruin autocad well and has a touchscreen

Crashes all the time. Runs incredibly slow after a few days use. Poor battery life. Premium metal version is just an ugly metal lid cover that looks worse than plastic.

"review of F15 series- big brother of this Sony 14."

Sadly at my local Fry's I'm told by several sales associates that these things are flying off the shelves. To bad most people may never realize they are open to any drive by attack which allows remote user full access to anything you have saved,...

great screen, easy hdmi hook up to larger monitor, mouse or touchpad for easy navigation, comfortable "lit" keyboard, choice of intel processors 3,5, or 7 with more memory the bigger the cpu. Two usb 3.0, and Two usb 2.0 ports.

Corrupted code, missing unattached registry keys to the original windows 8, have caused me to take this 2nd unit back to Fry's. Malware infested. Assist key brings up bios options to restore that same infected code. Buyer beware.
