Very expensive. Initially it never worked very well and kept crashing. I therefore did not use it much. after a year the wifi went then eventually it packed up. The main board proved to be defective and it was expensive to fix 485 pounds. Since then...

Sony Vaio VPC-F13M0E

Good build quality as you would expect from Sony. 4GB of RAM delivers fast response. i7 processor is genuinely fast. Very stable and forgiving when plugging in additional drives and programs on drives. Fast USB (3).

A little on the heavy side but you do get the big screen. Not a laptop to carry around too much.

Sony Vaio VPC-F13Z1E

It's quite fast

1. The fan is very very loud, which gets to the point of obeying very annoying; 2. It can get extremely hot after a while; 3. The wireless network card stopped working with a year. In hindsight, I would have bought something else.

Sony Vaio VPC-F13S0E

Good performance and graphics, once Linux is installed.

Default installation is completely dangerous - one button click erases entire main partition. Reinstallation major headache as backup discs not supplied, and much software unavailable without rescue discs. Without doubt the most flawed design of...
