Sanyo PLV-Z2000 review: Sanyo PLV-Z2000

Sanyo PLV-Z2000

Accurate color decoding; independent memory per input; comprehensive connectivity; includes both horizontal and vertical lens shift.

Primary and secondary color accuracy is way off, particularly red and green.

While Sanyo's PLV-Z2000 1080p projector does have some performance shortcomings, it's nonetheless a very good value.

Affordable Projectors for Non-Dedicated Home Theater Rooms - Sanyo PLV-Z2000 1080p Projector

Front projectors have been the gold standard in home theater for many years. But until recently, front projection meant a CRT-unit the size of a coffee table mounted to the ceiling. It only looked good if you turned your room into a bat-cave, was very...

I could not have picked a better product than the Sanyo PLV-Z2000 to begin the series. It provides an incredible amount of flexibility in room placement, and with its shuttered door and quiet fan, can be placed in on a coffee table in the middle of the...

Sanyo PLV-Z2000

Loads of presets and picture controls., Very quiet., Versatile positioning, thanks to wide zoom and lens shift.

Could be brighter; could have more contrast., Poor interlaced-PAL processing.

The Z2000 is one of Sanyo’s best projectors. But competition is tough in this sector — Full HD projectors are by no means rare these days, and some are now even available for less than 1,000 GBP. The Sanyo’s biggest selling points are its...

Sanyo PLV-Z2000 1080P 3-Chip LCD Front Projector Reviewed

By far the least expensive Sanyo projector available but is the PLV-Z2000 3-Chip LCD front projector any good? Home Theater weighs in on when is it time to save versus spend when it comes to high definition front projectors....

The projector uses full 1920 x 1080P HD three-chip LCD in this first-generation light engine ; A very quiet fan makes the projector almost sonically invisible, producing only 19.2 db SPL ; Reasonable black level and contrast ratio, with a minimum of...

Color primaries are a bit off, with both red and green being more deeply saturated than they are supposed to be ; Once everything is connected to all inputs, there is very little room to maneuver ; The contrast ratio is nowhere near 15,000:1; it's...

How do you know when you're enjoying a movie or television program? When you're not fiddling with the projector or remote control. With the Sanyo PLV-Z2000, you can just take it out of the box, hook up your sources, and off you go to the movies. It is...

Sanyo PLV-Z2000 Projector

Leave it Sanyo to come up with a novel way to ensure that a projector's lens cap can never be accidentally lost. Perhaps taking its cue from late 1960's muscle car design (the 1967 Camaro SS comes to mind), its PLV-Z2000 features a motorized sliding...

The Sanyo PLV-Z2000 is a big box that delivers an even bigger picture. Images were crisp, set-up was easy and the gaming and TV viewing fantastic. Despite the size issue, it is one of the best performing projectors on the market under $2500.

Sanyo PLV-Z2000 1080p LCD Projector

Sanyo's PLV-Z2000 is at $2,699 after a manufacturer's $300 rebate. That's a lot of pixels for the money. Let's take a look.
