If you're up to designing your own layout - learning all buttons for all devices exactly where you want - you'll quickly find a minor problem in that you can't 'delete' a button. If a preprogrammed command is assigned to a particular button to start...

Home Theater Master MX-500

The MX-500 may not look very futuristic or cool, but it can control every function on every piece of gear you own.

Large, well-spaced buttons ; 10 keys accept two custom commands each ; Editable labels ; Distinct transport and menu-navigation controls

Bulky, bland design

The MX-500's primary drawback is in the looks department: the control's big, bulky body won't win any beauty contests. But cosmetic considerations pale beside the MX-500's impressive feature list and ease of use. This is a great value and a top-notch...

Perfect universal remote, suitable for anything

I definitely recommend it. In just two hours, I had set up my TV, DVD, Hi-Fi, and even a remotely contolled electrical heater, to work with this remote, so substituting 4 remotes with this one was a breeze. I still have to mess a bit with macro...

Nice desing and plenty of functions and customizable options. The learn method is awesome. Thanks to it, I now control my TV, DVD and Hi-fi, and it even learnt the codes from my portable heater's remote, so I have one remote for everything at home

A bit heavy, but not a very big issue, since it also feels sturdy and very well built ; An updatable code list would be plus, since my TV (bought just a month ago) was just partially detected, and the code was not any of the ones listed for its brand

Home Theater Master MX-500

I would recommend this remote to anybody as long as you are willing to take some time to set it up right. Completely customizable and it is pretty easy to figure out once you get into the set up menu. Learns very easily from other remotes so you never...
