Canon CanoScan LiDE220 Color Image Scanner

If you need to scan photographic prints and an occasional short text document, but don't need to scan film, the Canon CanoScan LiDE220 Color Image Scanner is our top pick.

High-quality photo scans. Image enhancements include color restore and dust removal. Scans to searchable PDF and editable text formats.

Extremely limited software. No photo editor. Inconsistent commands from one choice for scanning to the next.

If you need an inexpensive photo scanner that can scan photographic prints well enough for casual use—like sending digital photos to friends and family or printing additional copies at snapshot quality—consider the Canon LiDE 120 or the Epson V19. For...

The Best Cheap Scanner

After 40 hours of research, testing four units that made our final cut, we chose the Canon LiDE 220 as the best flatbed scanner for everyday users.

If you want to digitize your child’s artwork, preserve old photos on the Web, and don’t need to scan film, the $90 Canon LiDE 220 is the way to go. The LiDE 220 scans the highest quality images most consistently. It will leave little Jimmy’s drawings...

Good home document & photo scanner

When you first get the scanner, there's a mechanical latch on the bottom of the scanner that locks the scanner head in place during shipping. Make sure you unlock it! I spent an hour scratching my head when setting it up and I was ready to call tech...

Solid simple scanner that works well. I'm using it to digitize a couple thousand of my parent's old pictures, and the software allows you to scan as many photos as you can fit in the scanner at a time, and it automatically parses each photo into it's...
