Tesco Hudl2 review: The UK's best value tablet

A supermarket turned tablet maker doesn't sound like the wisest of career progressions. Tesco's not your average supermarket, though. When you consider t

Great build quality ; Beautiful 1080p display ; Superb performance ; Robust parental controls ; Exceptional value for the money

Short battery life ; Heavy for a tablet this size ; Underwhelming stereo speakers

Tesco’s Hudl2 tablet is a vast improvement over its predecessor. It’s well-built, with a lovely 8.3-inch 1080p display, and performs impeccably, whether you’re browsing the web or playing processor-intensive 3D games. First-time tablet buyers will...

Tesco Hudl 2: A fantastic value-for-money family tablet [Review]

Following on from the success of Tesco's first generation budget tablet, it was only a matter of time until its successor was released.

When talking about the Hudl 2, it’s important to remember who it's aimed at. If it's a high-end tablet you're after then look elsewhere, but if you're on a budget or are looking for a second tablet for the family, then this really is the one for you....

Tesco Hudl 2 review: the best budget tablet to buy this holiday season?

Last year, Tesco's Hudl tablet came as something of a surprise. Few people would have expected that an Android tablet offered by a supermarket at such a low price could be any good – but many people were very pleasantly surprised. The follow up, the...

Incredible price ; Robust build quality ; Parental controls

Battery life ; Limited internal storage ; Shows up fingerprints

This is not a powerhouse of a tablet, but it's hard not to like it. There's just no arguing with the price, and while the Hudl 2 may not be a cutting edge device, you do get a great deal for your money. It's going to be a bit of a let-down for anyone...

Tesco Hudl 2

Launched in October 2014, the Tesco Hudl 2 follows the supermarket giant's first venture into the tablet market with the original Android-powered Hudl. Given that Tesco isn't exactly renowned for its tech innovation, the first Hudl caught us a little...

Massively improved screen quality ; Great speakers for watching films ; Really helpful and comprehensive guide ; New child safety features

Battery drains quickly ; Heavy for smaller hands

Tesco Hudl 2 review

It's really cheap, but it's really rather nice

Great value for money ; Decent HD screen ; Handy parental controls

Poor battery life ; Tesco launcher sluggish ; Limited internal storage

This is a stylish, desirable, and cheap full-featured Android tablet that will satisfy the whole family. It completely outshines virtually everything in the same price bracket. You'll be impressed at just how much Tesco's Hudl 2 offers for your money.

Tesco Hudl 2 review

At this price there's little to grumble about – this is a good budget tablet, but we would like a better music performance for the full five

Great value for money Good HD screen MicroSD card slot Easy to use Fast performance Tesco features can be ignored

Battery life could be better Camera is very poor

The Hudl 2 is a decent little tablet that requires a little understanding and leeway when it comes to balancing performance with value, because it offers plenty of both. In many respects it can take the fight to some of the pricier Android tablets out...

Tesco Hudl 2 review

The first Tesco Hudl tablet may have come as a surprise, not least because it was more than a half-decent Android tablet for a rock-bottom price and sold 750,000 units, but that it was a success despite bearing a supermarket chain's branding. It left...

Fast processor and healthy 2GB of RAM means apps and actions are speedy and smooth, very nice Full HD screen for the price, lightweight and premium feel, child safety options are great for a family with young children

The cameras are just ok despite being better than last year's model, sound through the stereo speakers isn’t great at higher volume, battery life when running for a while isn’t as good as some rivals

On this evidence the Tesco Hudl 2 will have even tech rivals worried and wondering how they can compete with such versatile tablet. And we even include Google in that, as the next Nexus has its work cut out - who'd have thought the prime competition...

Tesco Hudl 2 could be the best budget tablet ever (hands-on) - Pocket-lint

Nobody, not even Tesco, expected last year's Hudl Android tablet to be such a runaway hit, but runaway hit it sure was. To date, Tesco has sold over 750,000
