Meridian G95 Surround Receiver Reviewed

The sound on this receiver was rated very highly by our reviewer. "Whether you are listening to movies in 5.1 or CDs in stereo, or the famed Meridian Trifield setting, you will get some of the finest sound imaginable." Furthermore, the G95 "is likely...

Meridian is known for making some of the finestdigital gear in the world, and the sound of this piece proves why. Whether you are listening to movies in 5.1, or CDs in stereo, or thefamed Meridian Trifield setting, you will get some of the finest...

The G95 doesn't play DVD-Audio, SACD or Blu-ray discs. While the firsttwo are insignificant, Blu-ray is an issue. Adding a Blu-ray playerrequires an external HDMI switcher or multiple HDMI runs to yourdisplay ; The G95 doesn't decode any of the new...

Meridian G95 DVD Surround Receiver

What if you had all the money in the world but only room for one more item on your shelf? What if you cared deeply about DVDs and CDs but not a fig for DVD-Audio, SACD, Blu-ray Disc, or HD DVD? What if someone actually lived in those spotless...

Meridian G95 DVD A/V Receiver

High-end audio goes green. There is a link in the public mind between scale and quality, a notion that, if you want something better, you also want something bigger. After all, top-of-the-line surround receivers are expected to have more powerful...

There is a link in the public mind between scale and quality, a notion that, if you want something better, you also want something bigger. After all, top-of-the-line surround receivers are expected to have more powerful amplifiers and more features....

The Meridian G95 is the best implementation of Class D amplification circuitry I've yet experienced in a receiver. Even if you can't afford its towering four-figure price, that's a fact worth noting. It means that the green DVD-receiver has come of age...

Meridian G95 review

Meridian delivers its own one-size-fits-all solution

Fuss-free all-in-one solution ; Looks the business ; Built to last ; A good all-rounder

CD quality not as forthright as standalone samples ; Set-up is necessarily complex ; SACD support would make it truly universal

A beautifully executed example of the all-in-one solution, with the sound from audio discs the only slight weakness

Meridian G95 review

It's not cheap, but it's stylish, usable and hugely capable

Excellent picture and sound quality ; styling and build impress ; easy to use ; compact

You can buy more flexible kit for this cash ; not without rivals, most of which are cheaper

A sterling effort, and an object of some desire; a simple, low-compromise solution sure to appeal to many well-heeled buyers

One box to rule them all? That's the G95's plan ' it offers fabulous DVD and CD playback, bags of power and great style. But it also costs nigh-on four grandâ?¦

Brilliant performance. Stylish, compact and beautifully finished. Easy to use, with exceptional remote handset. Oozes 'proper' hi-fi credibility

Lacks onboard HDMI switching. No provision for iPod dock. It ain't cheap

Linn did it a while back, Arcam just did it, and now Meridian is doingit too. It's the single box that offers CD and DVD playback, FM and/or DAB tuning, multichannel processing and amplification. And it does all of them well...
