For stargazing, 10x50 is a bit shaky to use for long periods of time. Anything stronger than 10x50 would be difficult to hold still.
Great optics with BAK-4 prisms. These are nice and bright for stargazing. Rubber covered for protection too
A bit heavy. Mine don't say 'Pentax' anywhere but there still really good binoculars
Consumer review (warehouseexpress.com)
I spent a long time researching compact binos to replace my Steiner 8x20's. I was willing to spend up to £250, but I in the end I didn't need to. These Pentax are really excellent. Very clear and sharp, as well as lightweight. The 21mm eye relief makes...

I bought mine used about 20 years ago but it was mint. It works just about perfectly and there aren't really a lot of good alternatives if you need to determine contrast ranges/Zone system. And, unlike a lot of other meters, it uses a...
Very good accuracy, very good build quality, uses commonly available batteries.
Very expensive, sometimes has excess flare/reflections that make the display hard to read
Consumer review (shopping.com)
I use binoculars for birdwatching. I did a fair amount of online research about binocs before buying new ones. I narrowed my search more or less to the Pentax DCF either SP ($500) or HR ($280) 8x43 or the Nikon Monarch ATB 8x42 ($290).
Light, easy to focus quickly, clear, bright. Great quality for the price
Diopter adjustment is stiff, but at least it doesn't move once you've set it
Consumer review (shopping.com)
Actually, I used quite a lot pentax binoculars and I found this HS interesting that it use a mid size diameter lens, 36mm which lie between 32 and 42mm. Nikon also had Sporter I and Morach having such diameter, but I didn't used with this Nikon...
Economic, bright all-round binocular for birding
Not nitrogen filled, just waterproof
Consumer review (shopping.com)
For those binocular with objective diameter below 30mm, the image is not bright enough for long time observation otherwise the eyes will be tired. Some binocular even make me headache. But if you just want to buy a cheap and reasonable quality...
Water proof, well built body even though it made by plastic, good price
If you focus on good optics, this is not the one fit you

I've owned several brands and have used several brands of binoculars. These are the best by far for the money. They compare favorably with such high dollar brands as Leica, Steiner and Zeiss. The brightness and clarity are excellent. The eye relief is...

If your looking to buy a pair of binoculars for under $300, I will highly recommend the Pentax HR II. I compared them to the Bushnell Legends, Burris Signature, Leupold Pinnacles, Weaver Grand Slam and none were as Bright, sharp and clear as the Pentax...
Youre eyes will experience X-treme brightness, resolution and sharpness. (so be warned)
