LG Electronics BD370 Blu-Ray Review

CinemaNow, Netflix On Demand, and YouTube ; Fantastic Blu-ray image quality ; Speedy startup

Annoying front panel ; Difficult-to-use remote control ; Disappointing DVD image quality

A terrific picture, a responsive interface, and plenty of streaming goodness make the LG BD370 a terrific player, despite a few shortcomings.

LG BD370

LG earned our admiration when it introduced the BD300, the fastest-loading Blu-ray disc player we'd ever seen. Now the new LG BD370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player ($299 list) features the speedy disc-handling of its predecessor at an initial price that's...

Stylish, clean design. Fast start-up and disc-loading speeds. Streams Netflix and YouTube video

Below-average DVD upconversion. Poor image quality with 1080i video sources. Optional memory required for BD-Live support

The LG BD370 Network Blu-ray Disc Player's fast disc-handling speed and slick styling are tempered by subpar DVD upconversion performance.

LG BD370 review: LG BD370

LG BD370

Streams Netflix and YouTube; Profile 2.0 compatible; onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Essential; relatively quick load times.

Competitors offer better image quality on Blu-ray and DVD; no Wi-Fi option.

LG's entry-level Blu-ray player packs Netflix and YouTube at a reasonable price, but the BD370's image quality is a step below the best.

LG BD370 "Connected" Blu-ray Player

LG announced their update to the very exciting BD300 player. When it hit the shelves, it was one of the first Blu-ray players (nay, devices in general) that could stream Netflix content. The BD370

LG BD 370

Excellent 24p movie picture., YouTube access., Fast, quiet disc drive., Bitstream output of HD audio., Easy operation.

No decoder for DTS-HD.

The LG is an excellent, cheap, entry-level model, scoring highly with its fast, quiet disc drive and easy YouTube access, without neglecting the essentials - great DVD and Blu-ray playback quality. The straightforward menu structure and the changing...

Review: LG Electronics BD370 Blu-ray player

A terrific picture, a responsive interface, and plenty of streaming goodness make this a terrific Blu-ray player, despite a few shortcomings.

Fantastic Blu-ray image quality ; Speedy startup ; CinemaNow, Netflix On Demand and YouTube

Annoying front panel ; Disappointing DVD image quality ; Difficult-to-use remote control

Images looked clear and detailed, with a dimensionality that popped out at us, making the visuals extraordinarily compelling. Matched against those of our reference Sony PlayStation 3, the BD370's images were obviously superior

LG BD370 NetCast Blu-ray PlayerReview

LG's BD370 is the company's second Netflix-enabled Blu-ray player. It's also offers YouTube. Mix that up with decent Blu-ray performance and quick disc response and you've got a media machine worth checking out.

Other manufacturers are bundling online content features into their Blu-ray players (and everything else) so this market may look completely different a year from now. And let's not forget the gorilla in the room--the Playstation 3. It had network...

Excellent DVD upscaling, very good Blu-ray picture quality, can connect to YouTube, can play and display media from USB 2.0 thumb drives, BD-Live capable

No 7.1-channel analog outputs

The LG BD370 Blu-ray player is an excellent entry-level option. The very good DVD upscaling, Blu-ray movie picture quality, BD-Live connectivity and USB playback already make it worth the price tag, but the ability to connect to YouTube makes this one...

LG adds YouTube access to its burgeoning Blu-ray portfolio

BD Live and YouTube ; Quick disc loading ; Swanky looks

No multichannel analogue outs ; Poor YouTube picture quality

A great-value deck that seamlessly brings YouTube into the living room – as well as making the most of Blu-ray discs
