Panasonic DMP-BDT210 Review: A Great All-Around Blu-ray Player

The Panasonic DMP-BDT210 has almost everything you could want in a Blu-ray player. It sends great-looking images to an HDTV--in 2D and in 3D. It has a huge selection of streaming Internet services built in, with more on the way. It can play media files...

3D with depth-perception settings ; Superior selection of Internet apps ; Excellent image quality

Supports few multimedia file formats ; Front flap doesn't close ; Annoying home-screen animation

The DMP-BDT210 produces excellent images in both 2D and 3D, and it offers a fantastic selection of Internet entertainment. And at $160, it's reasonably priced for a 3D player, even if it is a bit clumsy to use.

Panasonic DMP-BDT210 review

Editors' note : Several user reviews have mentioned problems with Netflix streaming on the Panasonic DMP-BDT210, which we did not experience during our review. For more information, read our blog about the issue .

The Panasonic DMP-BDT210 has built-in Wi-Fi, a simple user interface, and an excellent suite of streaming-media services, including Netflix, Amazon Instant, Vudu, Pandora, Skype, and CinemaNow. The DMP-BDT210 also has the fastest overall disc-loading...

The Panasonic DMP-BDT210 has fewer overall streaming services than some competitors, missing some high-profile services like Hulu Plus and MLB.TV. It also lacks onboard memory for accessing BD-Live features.

The Panasonic DMP-BDT210's built-in Wi-Fi, simple user interface, Amazon Instant streaming, and blazing fast disc-loading speeds make it our favorite Blu-ray player of 2011 so far.

Panasonic DMP-BDT210 3D Blu-ray Player

Sales figures for home theater components are not something I really pay attention to. I’d much rather own something that works great than to have what’s popular, or to have my opinion influenced by sales numbers. However, I’d be willing to bet...

If you’ve read the whole review, or looked at the bench data, you can probably guess where I stand. While the benchmark player out there is still the Oppo 93/95, many people don’t want to spend $500 or more on a Blu-ray player. For people that want a...

Best Blu-ray player for most users

Reviewers say Panasonic's DMP-BDT210 covers all the bases, and it covers them well. Critics love both the player's performance and its features. Picture quality is excellent with Blu-ray Discs and DVDs, though some videophiles might sniff at...

Great image quality, fast load times, built-in Wi-Fi, dLNA support, touch-free sensor, internet streaming, including Skype support

Lack of on-board memory, no 7.1 surround-sound analog outputs, some gaps in video file support

The mid-level entry into Panasonic's 2011 line of Blu-ray players in the DMP-BDT210 Blu-ray player, which sports many features, including a new feature that Panasonic is introducing to the company's Blu-ray players....

The DMP-BDT210 supports 3D playback, with optional 2D-to-3D conversion if you'd like to simulate the 3D effect with standard 2D content ; It has internal decoding and bitstream output of high-resolution audio sources ; It supports BD-Live and...

This model does not include dual HDMI outputs to send separate signals to your 3D TV and A/V receiver ; It also lacks multichannel analog audio outputs, so it's not the best choice for someone who owns an older, non-HDMI A/V receiver ; The player lacks...

2010 saw the introduction of 3D video playback in the home. While the jury is still out on whether 3D is the way to go, we are seeing a plethora of TVs and blu-ray players that are all geared for the 3D explosion. With mass market acceptance prices are...
