JVC Everio GZ-HM200 Camcorder Review

As far as mid-range HD camcorders go, the JVC GZ-HM200 ($579 MSRP) is a solid product. The sister-model to the GZ-HD300, the HM200 includes dual SD/SDHC memory card slots and offers a fairly straightforward shooting experience. The camcorder has some...

There are a ton of HD camcorders on the market that range between $400 and $800. Picking the best out of that bunch is a difficult task, but the GZ-HM200 is definitely a solid prospect. The camcorder offers an excellent value with an MSRP of $579, and...

JVC GZ-HM200

Some handling issues and cheap construction, but overall, a good mid-range model

Excellent color accuracy; Good low light color and noise

Poor low light sensitivity; Laser Touch is a pain to use

JVC Everio GZ-HM200 review

Does JVC's Everio GZ-HM200 do the job for casual shooting?

Price is right ; 20x optical zoom ; Dual card slot

Image quality ; Handling ; No hard drive

A neat little unit, but lacking in key areas

Perhaps you are one of those people who are looking to buy a functional but budget friendly camcorder. Well, you are in luck. Because you are just about to see how JVC have answered your needs with its GZ-HM200 camcorder. But JVC will not make it all...

Eggcellent

We do like it as it is our first, compact, HD, flash based camcorder. Bought it as a "re-certified camcorder" and saved a lotta dough. As always, fast shipping, great prices from Newegg.

Small portable camcorder. HD is excellent when shooting outdoors with natural light

HD is grainy when shooting indoors without natural light. LED light provided by camera is a joke. Might as well not even came with one. Software for us is complicated. I'm 39, so I might just be officially "tech stupid", but I've figured out all the...

JVC=JUNK!!!

here seems to be no Pros to a JVC camera except for its looks

Video and Picture quality way below standards. Had Camera for just over a year. Very low hours (around 6 when I went to transfer video to DVD). Camera said the lense cap was on and had a black screen. This was a problem with many cameras. Never dropped...

Good for the money

Good for the money. Did not expect something great for the $300 I paid.

Easy to use. Small compact. Picture looks good when light conditions are bright. Poor in low light. Has film and still picture mode. Can also snap still pictures while filming in camera mode

Bad image quality in low light conditions for both film and still ; The still pictures are poor even in bright light conditions when compared to any pocket digital camera. This is why I rated it as a 3. I can't understand why the still pictures are so...

Great Camera so far

Based on reviews this is the best camera under $400.00 that I could find.

Controls easy to understand ; Small compact camera (slightly smaller than a soda can) ; Great quality shots in daylight ; So so in low light ; Good user's manual easy to read ; Takes duel SD cards ; Great Zoom, stable shots

Software is tricky (I work in tech support and I found this software tricky, but Windows 7 media handles the files) ; has to be plugged into AC to upload files to computer

JVC Everio GZ-HM200 Sapphire Blue 1/4.1" CMOS 2.7" 123K 20X Optical Zoom Full HD SD/SDHC Card Dual Slot Camcorder

I like the camera overall. I would recommend getting a 16gig memory card. A 4gb mem card on xp setting has 31min of video recording and on uxp 22min. It has 80min life on battery but they sell a higher life battery if you need more. It does not use...

Nice and easy to use. I like the dual slot SD mem card design so I can use the 4gb stick as well as a 16gb for a 20gig capacity. You can get it upto 64gb of storage

The focus is a ltttle slow when zooming it in or out fast ; The supplied software does not have alot of editing features. I use Coral Studio 12 and it is good for me since I have little experience
