Kodak PixPro SP360 review

The Pixpro SP360 ($300) from JK Imaging — a company that licenses the Kodak name — is one of the first consumer cameras made for shooting 360 panorama videos and photos. This action cam is easy to use, and it gives you an experience most other cameras...

Easy, fun to use YouTube support Weather-resistant body Compact, lightweight Good companion app

Mediocre image quality Washed out colors Full HD not available in panoramas Can’t view or share using standard software

Overall, the SP360 is easy to use and the quickest way to record 360-degree content without having to set up complicated rigs, but like the V.360 it suffers from image quality issues. The SP360 is all about capturing the experience of the moment, and...

Kodak Pixpro SP360 4K review: Versatile 360-degree camera in need of better software

The SP360 4K's single-lens design gives you more shooting flexibility than other 360 cameras, but you may find the included editing software frustrating.

The Kodak Pixpro SP360 4K is a clear improvement over the original's video quality. Single-camera 360-degree video and photos don't require stitching. A Dual Pro Pack of cameras makes it possible to create spherical video with its bundled basic...

The Dual Pro Pack is priced for serious hobbyists and pros and will require better software than Kodak's included solutions for the best results. Included stitching software is for video only. The bundled dual-camera mount is a pain to use and no...

The versatile Kodak Pixpro SP360 4K is a 360-degree camera and 4K-resolution action cam rolled into one. You'll need better software than what's provided to get the most from it, though.

Kodak Pixpro SP360 4K

The Kodak Pixpro SP360 4K is one of the first 360 degree cameras to add 4K support, but resolution is still a problem with the format.

Captures 360-degree video. Records in 4K. Wi-Fi with NFC. Standard tripod mount. Available with accessory bundle. Waterproof housing available.

Disappointing smartphone and desktop software. Video edges are soft. Purple fringing in high contrast areas. 360-degree video has a long way to go.

Conclusions Perhaps video is the natural evolution of the ultra-wide field of view popularized by GoPro, perhaps it's the future of moving images, or perhaps it's a passing fad. Only time will tell. What's clear is that more pixels at the time of...

Kodak's Pixpro SP360 helps expand your action-cam creativity

This superwide-angle camera will change the way you -- and others -- see your adventures.

The Kodak Pixpro SP360 puts a rugged 360-degree camera in the palm of your hand. It can also be used as a more typical action cam capturing ultrawide-angle 1080p video. A large assortment of accessories is included.

The 360-degree video is circular out of the camera and using Kodak's software to unfold clips to other views greatly reduces the quality of the video, which is merely good to start with, for the price. The onboard controls and menu system aren't...

The Kodak Pixpro SP360's 360-degree video is fun to view and experiment with, while its regular full HD video means you're not stuck with a one-trick camera. The rest of the package could use some fine-tuning, though.

Kodak PixPro SP360 4K Review

If only Kodak made a better mobile app, its 360 camera might have been one of my favorites. Although the PixPro doesn't take a full spherical image, the 4K video it captures is crisp, clean and colorful. The camera's controls are easy to use, and it...

Great video quality ; Easy-to-use controls ; Lots of accessories ; Replaceable battery/SD card

Desktop app required to make videos YouTube-ready ; Doesn't take full spherical video

The Kodak PixPro SP360 4K takes great video and is easy to use, but it's hamstrung by a less-than-functional mobile app.

Kodak Pixpro SP360 4K

The Kodak Pixpro SP360 4K is an update to Pixpro SP360 360-degree camera. The new version bumps the maximum resolution to 4K and adds some extra coverage across the vertical axis – it only has 360-degree coverage across the horizontal – allowing you to...

Kodak Pixpro SP360 4K review: an affordable VR action cam

Want 360-degree 4K video? Then the Kodak Pixpro SP360 4K could be for you

Immersive footage ; Easy to use ; Good value for a VR action cam

Software feels unprofessional ; Movie quality could be better

Kodak Pixpro SP360 4K Dual Pro Pack review

Want to upload 4K 460 video for the world to see on Facebook or YouTube? Well we've reviewed the Kodak Pixpro SP360 4K Dual Pro Pack.

Although there is high quality results on offer here, the sheer price will put many consumers off. Then there's how complicated this two-camera system is to use which will be simply too much for most consumers. We're still trying to get out head round...
