Doesn't include video-editing or Blu-ray-burning software.

Sony's HDR-SR11 camcorder features a 60GB hard drive and delivers dazzling 1080i HD video, along with some cool extra features. But if you don't already own compatible video-editing software, you'll have to add that to its price.

The HDR-SR11 HD camcorder is an easy choice for those wishing to jump on the tapeless bandwagon. Sony has all the bases covered: the camcorder is Mac-friendly, sports impressive video quality, and is elegantly designed.

An excellent handycam

Suburb high-definition video quality, good low-light performance, 10.1Mp stills mode, tonnes of advanced modes and features

A little on the chunky side

The HDR-SR11 is a slightly cheaper alternative to Sony's top-of-the-range HDR-SR12E. With the exception of a smaller hard drive, it offers identical performance to its award-winning sibling.
