Acer at IFA 2016: Liquid Z6 and Z6 Plus hands-on

 

While Sony went after high-end smartphones this time around, Huawei opted to show us mid-rangers, Acer was the one to give us low-cost yet attractive devices. We saw three devices to premiere at IFA - Liquid Z6, Liquid Z6 Plus, and Iconia Talk S.

Acer Liquid Z6 Plus Smartphone Review

 

Acer's large smartphone. Acer's Liquid Z6 Plus is a middle-class smartphone with a large Full-HD display, fingerprint sensor and a huge battery. The middle class is highly contested, however - so is the Liquid z6 Plus able to stand out in any way?

bright Full-HD display ; Dual-SIM ; USB-OTG ; sturdy and upscale-looking metal case design ; long battery life ; includes navigation software for free ; supports many LTE bands ; good voice quality ; hardly gets warm ; very low power consumption

headset suffers from loose contact ; lots of bloatware ; rear-facing camera delivers low quality pictures ; "Bluelight Shield" has a dimming effect on the screen ; very noticeable bluish cast ; brightness is low ; speaker doesn't that great ; GPS...

The Acer Liquid Z6 Plus doesn't make a verdict easy: the sturdy and good-looking case design is quite appealing, but on the flip side, the build quality isn't that great and gaps are uneven. A Full-HD display is still something special in this price...
