Apple iPhone 6s review: Time-saver edition

Compact Retina LCD display with superb colors and contrast. 3D Touch. ; Great 12MP shooter with wide dynamic range ; One of the fastest phones around ; Clean audio output

The latest iPhone rarely needs an introduction - it's always one of the most anticipated flagships each year and often sets the bar for the premium smartphone niche. Fans know Apple has put its heart in it and media's reviews, whether praising or not,...

iPhone 6s and 6s Plus review: more than just a refresh

We spent a week with both of Apple's new flagship phones. Read our thoughts in our full, comprehensive review.

3D Touch is a smart, helpful addition ; First-rate performance ; Touch ID is faster and more accurate ; Great camera helped by optical image stabilization ; Solid battery life

Live Photos are hit-or-miss ; Base model still only has 16GB of storage ; Touch ID can be overly sensitive ; Can be hard to use with one hand

The iPhone 6s Plus has 3D Touch, iOS 9, a pair of improved cameras and the powerful A9 chipset, just like its smaller sibling. A long-lasting battery and optical image stabilization for its 12-megapixel rear camera help give the iPhone 6s Plus a slight...

Apple iPhone 6s (Unlocked)

The unlocked Apple iPhone 6s lets you freely switch between all the major U.S. and foreign carriers, with no loss of coverage.

Best coverage and speeds on all four U.S. networks. Fast processor. Excellent cameras. 3D Touch feature shows potential.

Expensive. Average battery life.

Comparisons and Conclusions There are relatively few phones that can operate freely on all four U.S. carriers, plus most international carriers. The iPhone 6 series, the iPhone 6s lineup, the Moto X Pure Edition , and Google's Nexus phones are the only...

Apple iPhone 6s (Sprint)

The Apple iPhone 6s turbocharges the iPhone experience on Sprint, making it an essential upgrade.

Much faster on Sprint's Spark network than previous iPhones. Good cameras. 3D Touch has potential.

Average battery life.

Conclusions As I've been reviewing the various iPhone 6s carrier models, I've been struck by how the most important part of a smartphone is really the modem. Smartphones exist to keep us connected, and the iPhone 6s keeps us measurably better connected...

Apple iPhone 6s Review

From a design point of view the iPhone 6s is pretty much identical to its predecessor the iPhone 6 but there have been a number of improvements under the hood, including in the camera department. Sensor resolution has been upped to 12MP and with the...

Apple iPhone 6s (AT&T)

The Apple iPhone 6s is faster than last year's model all around, including better AT&T LTE speeds.

Faster LTE speeds than iPhone 6. Excellent cameras. Super-fast processor. 3D Touch has lots of potential.

Front-facing camera could be sharper. Average battery life.

Comparisons and Conclusions AT&T subscribers have a lot of choices. Along with the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus , AT&T supports all the flagship Android phones, and it'll be the only carrier to bring Microsoft's Lumia 950 to market. So why choose...

Apple iPhone 6S ( 128GB, 24kt Gold/White Diamond Crystals)

I showed her 3D Touch, Apple's newest technology on these iPhones. She pressed on the hypnotically-animated lock screen, a swimming fish. She watched it dance under her finger. And yes, she was impressed. But when I showed her everything else 3D Touch...

Improved speed everywhere (new processor, faster wireless, quicker Touch ID sensor); a sturdier body; better front and rear cameras; a bold new 3D Touch pressure-sensitive display that could end up being a really useful tool in apps down the road, and...

Same battery life as the iPhone 6. The 6S Plus model remains the only way to get optical image stabilization for photos and video, plus better battery life. You'll need to pay extra to vault past the too-small storage of the entry-level 16GB version.

The newest iPhones are top-to-bottom better phones with lots of enhancements; iPhone 6 owners don't need the upgrade, but everyone else should seriously consider it.

Apple iPhone 6s (Verizon Wireless)

The Apple iPhone 6s is one of the fastest phones on Verizon, with improved camera quality and network performance over its predecessor.

Recovers from dead zones faster than iPhone 6. Excellent cameras. Super-fast processor. 3D Touch has lots of potential.

Front-facing camera could be sharper. Average battery life.

Comparisons and Conclusions Our conclusions for the iPhone 6s on T-Mobile still hold for the Verizon model, although a little less emphatically. Despite almost identical looks, the 6s is still a considerable step up from the iPhone 6. It's faster, it...

Apple iPhone 6S review

The iPhone 7 is here, and there's very little question that it'll be a better phone than the iPhone 6S. It has:

Compared to iPhone 6, it has improved speed everywhere (new processor, faster wireless, quicker Touch ID sensor); a sturdier body; better front and rear cameras; and a bold new 3D Touch pressure-sensitive display which offers new iOS shortcuts.

It has the same battery life as the iPhone 6. You'll need to buy a larger iPhone 6S Plus or upgrade to an iPhone 7 for better battery life, plus optical image stabilization for photos and video.

The iPhone 7 may be the new hot stuff, but -- particularly with a price drop and a storage upgrade -- the iPhone 6S is still a great deal.

Apple iPhone 6s (T-Mobile)

The Apple iPhone 6s may look just like its predecessor, but it offers up some real advantages that make the iPhone experience better.

Much better LTE reception than iPhone 6. Excellent cameras. Super-fast processor. 3D Touch has lots of potential.

Front-facing camera could be sharper. Average battery life.

Comparisons and Conclusions As with all iPhone reviews, we need to answer two questions here: whether you should upgrade to the iPhone 6s from an earlier iPhone, and whether you should buy the 6s rather than an Android phone (I'm not mentioning Windows...
