I typed my entire BlackBerry Passport review on the phone's tiny keyboard

The Passport is the best BlackBerry 10 device you can buy, and comes with a number of flagship-caliber specs. But its odd shape and size, as well as its weird keyboard, may be a turnoff for many.

Keyboard doubles as touchpad ; Long battery life ; Fantastic outdoor visibility ; Good camera ; Robust build

Don't even try using it one-handed ; Keyboard is difficult to get used to ; Awkward size and shape ; App selection is better now, but still needs some work ; Occasional hiccups in performance

The Passport is an odd duck; it's difficult to bestow one final judgment that applies to everyone. It's your only choice if you want a high-end phone with a physical keyboard, and it's the best-performing BlackBerry in the lineup. But it also feels...

BlackBerry Passport review: Ticket to ride

Canadian manufacturer BlackBerry looks to bring its no-nonsense smartphone approach in a form factor that is...unusual, to say the least. It's a company that's no stranger lately to being in the red for quarters on end and the Passport is yet another...

4.5" 16M-color IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen of 1440 x 1440px ; Quad-core 2.26 GHz Krait 400, 3GB RAM, Adreno 330 ; 13 megapixel auto-focus camera with face detection and Time Shift, HDR, LED flash, 2MP front facing camera ; FullHD (1080p) video...

Awkward design, in which an otherwise compact touchscreen takes some really large hands to use single-handedly and typing is certainly a two-hand job ; No 2160p video recording (for such an expensive device) ; Non user-replaceable battery ; Three-row...

Finding a way out of the doldrums has become a do-or-die for BlackBerry, time perhaps to do something different than just do better. Not that the Z-series did anything wrong. But if the mindset back then was all about catching up to Android and iOS,...

BlackBerry Passport (AT&T)

The BlackBerry Passport is a unique phone for keyboard fans, and this model lets you get it on AT&T's subsidized plans.

Sharp, sunlight-readable screen. Excellent reception and voice quality. Roomy physical keyboard.

Troubled camera. App selection not up to Android or iOS competition. $50 more than unlocked unit.

Conclusions If you're a potential BlackBerry Passport owner, you'll know. And you'll be happy to know that AT&T may have rounded the corners here, but it hasn't loaded down the Passport with bloatware or crippled its services. This is the full...

The BlackBerry Passport is a bold productivity powerhouse plagued by cumbersome design

The squat 4.5-inch BlackBerry Passport has a phenomenal keyboard, but it makes phablets look comfortable.

The BlackBerry Passport offers powerful hardware and a clever keyboard that makes for a great reading and editing experience.

That squat, square shape makes it awkward to use. Amazon's app store lacks some key apps found on Google Play.

The BlackBerry Passport's bullish focus on productivity spawns a fantastic keyboard, but its blocky shape makes one-handed use difficult.

BlackBerry Passport (Unlocked)

The BlackBerry Passport is all work and no play. But that doesn't mean it's dull.

Excellent voice quality, battery life, keyboard, and screen visibility.

Sluggish camera. Poor third-party app support. Fragile screen. Awkward form factor.

The BlackBerry Passport is a pure productivity machine, and emblematic of the company's professional, business-focused mindset. It's packing powerful hardware, a slew of clever features, and a great foundation in BlackBerry OS 10.3, which is poised to...

BlackBerry Passport Smartphone Review

Square, handy, good? BlackBerry doesn't give up the fight and launches an unusual smartphone in the market dubbed Passport. Its hardware keyboard and Android app support are to turn the tide. Find out in this report whether or not that might just succeed.

Handy screen format, Physical keyboard, Rigid casing, Low heat development, High performance, (Limited) Android app compatibility, Rich-sounding speakers, Practical battery life, Good voice quality, Smooth navigation

Bulky and relatively heavy casing, Number and symbol key only virtual, Screen's high black level, Cameras' middling image quality, High load power consumption, SIM and SD flap difficult to open, High price

BlackBerry takes a risk because it has to in order to stop losing market shares. The Passport is a daring device because an unusual yet very practical screen format is used, and because it features a physical keyboard. The proprietary software that is...
