HTC Titan review: Huge is the new big

One big scary smartphone, the HTC Titan. Visible from space. Oh well, a little exaggeration won't hurt. But as far as we can tell, they certainly wanted it big enough to see from Finland.

Massive 4.7" 16M-color S-LCD capacitive touchscreen of WVGA resolution (480 x 800 pixels) ; Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support ; Dual-band 3G with HSDPA 14.4 Mbps and HSUPA 5.76Mbps ; Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS ; 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon CPU,...

A bit on the gigantic side ; Screen size stretches the resolution a little thin ; Non-expandable storage ; No mass storage ; Zune only file management and sync ; No Flash (nor Silverlight) support in the browser ; No native video calls ; No DivX/XviD...

HTC don’t need to prove anything to anyone when it comes to Windows smartphones. They’ve just come a full circle from the TyTN II to the Titan. There have been enough opportunities for them to demonstrate their commitment. From PocketPC to Mango,...

HTC Titan

We knew as soon as we first clapped eyes on this hulk of a phone that it'd make a brave purchase. It's not just the 4.7-inch screen that requires a leap of faith, but also the Windows Phone operating system, which is presented here in all its Mangofied...

Big display is a good match for this OS ; Touchscreen keyboard makes typing painless ; Build quality is almost perfect ; Brilliant camera for both stills and video

Usable storage maxes out at 12.6GB ; WP 7.5 still has a few bugs and a shortage of apps

This phone is not for the faint-hearted, but its build quality, screen size and camera make it the best Windows Phone on the market -- at least for now.

HTC Titan (AT&T)

The HTC Titan is one of the best Windows Phone 7.5 devices out there, but at this price, LTE and higher screen resolution should be a given.

Massive screen is great for video. Solid construction. Fast.

Muted voice quality. Low-res screen. Still needs more apps. Not 4G.

Multimedia, Camera, and Conclusions There's a standard-size 3.5mm headphone jack on top and 10.52GB of free internal storage, but no memory card slot, and no earbuds in the box. Music tracks sounded full and clear through both wired and Samsung Modus...

HTC Titan (AT&T) review: HTC Titan (AT&T)

HTC Titan (AT&T)

The ; has a premium and polished design coupled with a colorful and vibrant display. It ships with the latest Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS, and has a 1.5GHz Qualcomm processor, an 8-megapixel camera that takes great pictures, and a front-facing...

The HTC Titan could be a little too large for small hands, and it doesn't offer expandable memory. We expected better call quality as well.

The HTC Titan's big and beautiful design and impressive features make it one of the better Windows Phone offerings on AT&T.

Battery is removable; excellent large display; great performance; excellent build quality; if u have big hands / fingers – this is the phone for you; great camera

No MicroSD card slot; device’s size might be too big for some hands; bland design; device is a bit on the hefty side

HTC Titan Review

The HTC Titan is, in every sense, a high-end utilitarian smartphone intended for those who're not in need of a flashy looking phone with massive amount of storage that has all sorts of unwanted apps. As I've said earlier, the hardware component of this...
