Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ hands-on review

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are here, official, unwrapped, and we go in full hands-on mode. We might be sending off another UNPACKED event preceded by weeks of overwhelming leaks, but we are surely heading towards a new chapter in the smartphone...

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus review

The Galaxy S9 Plus is a masterpiece.

Gorgeous design ; Brilliant, colorful display ; Feature-packed camera ; Excellent low-light photo quality ; Good sound from stereo speakers

Battery life could be better ; Live Focus produces fuzzy photos

The Galaxy S9 Plus brings a refined design, but it’s the ‘reimagined’ camera that makes this phone stand out, and worth the high price tag.

Galaxy S9 Plus is still worth buying, but wait a month -- here's why

Samsung's likely Galaxy S10 Plus could make the S9 Plus a "splurge" phone you can afford.

The Galaxy S9 Plus one-ups the excellent Galaxy S9 with a second rear camera for taking portrait photos.

Battery life fell short of last year's model in our early tests, and the Galaxy S9 Plus suffers from the same underbaked extras as the smaller Galaxy S9. The dual-aperture camera tends to overexpose low-light photos in auto mode.

Samsung's most robust Galaxy S9 of 2018 is still a good buy, but not until after the Galaxy S10 starts selling.

Samsung Galaxy S9+

It's not revolutionary, but the Samsung Galaxy S9+ sets the bar for smartphones in 2018, with the best hardware features you can get.

Gorgeous screen. Beautiful body. Spectacular network performance. Dual main cameras with excellent low-light capture. Loud audio.

Camera software oversharpens images. AR Emoji and Bixby disappoint.

I don't think the past 12 months make a great innovation year for smartphones. That doesn't mean we're seeing bad phones, it just means we aren't seeing game-changing phones. With in-display fingerprint sensors coming at the end of 2018 and 5G networks...

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Smartphone Review

Fine-tuning. The big model of Samsung's flagship series not only offers a larger display, it also offers a dual camera and more RAM. This review reveals whether the higher price is justified and how the Galaxy S9+ fares in comparison to its...

stylish design ; great display ; fast SoC ; expandable storage ; LTE Cat. 18 ; stereo speakers ; IP67 ; good sensor equipment ; USB 3.1 with DP, HDMI, and OTG ; wireless-charging ; great dual camera ; optional dual-SIM (Duos model)

no dual-VoLTE ; worse battery runtimes than predecessor ; long charging time ; SoC throttling under constant load ; no warranty for damage caused by liquids

With the Galaxy S9 Plus, Samsung has managed to create a great smartphone again that received many sensible improvements but no real innovations. The main camera's two aperture levels are a great thing to have and work well in everyday life. Samsung...

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Review: Now that's an iPad alternative worthy of your attention

Compact, powerful, and pleasantly versatile, the Galaxy Tab S9 is easily the best Android tablet you can consider. Despite the shortcomings, it's the one to get if you're not in the iPad camp.

Bright and vivid AMOLED display ; Excellent performance ; Very decent battery life ; Functional interface, S Pen stylus ; Compact size makes it super-manageable

Absolutely terrible haptic feedback ; Not enough bass ; Camera is so-so ; No version with cellular connectivity

Samsung Galaxy S9+ review: Better late than never

Here we are, on the brink of a new Galaxy device announcement and we're pushing out a Samsung Galaxy S9+ review. Better late than never I suppose.

Samsung design continues to be great ; Build quality is equal to the Note9 ; Actually more comfortable to hold than the Note9 ; Samsung's displays still blow me away ; Great battery life ; Fingerprint sensor placement is much better ; Stereo speakers,...

Flagship pricing, some may not like the $900+ price ; Bixby isn't for everyone and you can't use it for Google ; Glass slabs are fingerprint magnets ; Bezel-free phones can sometimes register slight unintended touches on the sides

Bottom line. This phone is for you if:

Both the Galaxy S9+ and the Galaxy Note 8 are big, shiny and pretty to look at, and pack all of Samsung's latest bells and whistles. One can legitimately be confused when trying to decide between those two. So, let's take a closer look!
