LG G Pro 2 vs Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Royal duel

No other pair of droids will have you sitting on a fence like these two. Alright, a bold statement indeed. But if anything in it is to be taken literally, it's the fence. In the end though, home turf for both, this isn't about which side has the...

As another exciting phablet shootout draws to a close, it's time to look back at who did their homework better. To a great extent, the fight between the G Pro 2 and Galaxy Note 3 decides which phablet will stand as the benchmark for the rest of the...

LG G Pro 2 review: new year, new Note contender

With a solid construction, good battery life and plenty of firepower, the G Pro 2 is a contender for the best large-screen phone on the market.

Fast and powerful ; Good camera ; Solid build quality and design ; Long battery life

Expensive to import (no US models yet) ; A few early bugs ; Textured back plate feels a little too slick

Aside from a couple bugs, we have few complaints about the LG G Pro 2, so forgive us if we get a little nitpicky. For starters -- and this should go without saying -- but if you found the original G Pro too large, you won't be happy with the size of...

LG G Pro 2 review: See you 2morrow

Ever since the Note series rose to power and propelled the phablet class to stardom, their reign has only been disturbed once. The first generation of the G Pro, known as Optimus back then, was unveiled as the ultimate phablet in terms of specs, but...

Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE support; Quad-band 3G with HSPA; LTE cat4 ; 5.9" 16M-color 1080p True HD IPS Plus FullHD capacitive touchscreen ; Corning Gorilla Glass 2 display protection ; Android OS v4.4.2 KitKat; LG Optimus UI ; Quad-core 2.26GHz Krait 400...

Plastic finish of the back cover has poor grip ; No dedicated camera key ; No FM radio

Last year, the LG Optimus Pro almost did the unthinkable, beating the then-incumbent Note II at its own game. The LG flagship was better looking, more powerful and flaunted a better, higher-resolution screen than its rival. That was more than enough...

LG Optimus G Pro vs. Samsung Galaxy Note II: Sumo wrestling

Back in 2011 the smartphone landscape was seemingly starting to settle, when Samsung stirred things up by taking a wild leap with the original Galaxy Note. The 5.3" slate was called a monster back then and we all had to re-think our idea of the...

We come to the end of our first phablet shootout. It was only logical that the market segment that experienced staggering growth over the past year and a half will start producing fierce clashes of its own. Samsung has certainly enjoyed the time when...

LG G Pro 2 review: the evolutionary process

Iterate and update. That's the mantra of the smartphone world these days. Where radical design changes between generations of phones might have been commonplace just a year or so ago, most...

Great display ; Great battery life ; Improved design

Rear buttons are awkward ; Software is overbearing ; Camera is unimpressive

Despite LG's improvements, Samsung still makes the better phablet

LG G Pro 2 review

Editors' note, March 13, 2014 : This review has been updated with additional data and call performance analysis.

The LG G Pro 2 packs a beautiful and large HD screen, loads of camera features, and fast performance.

The Pro 2's big size can be unwieldy and its sharp edges are uncomfortable to hold. The phone's tap-to-unlock feature (Knock Code) is useful but isn't responsive enough.

The LG G Pro 2 delivers plenty of power, a huge and lovely screen, and a feature-packed camera, but the Galaxy Note 3's stylus and superior styling give it the edge.

LG G Pro 2 - Mini Review

At MWC, LG announced their new G Pro 2, which was written up for an early hands-on and some analysis based upon the information given out by LG's press release on the device. This is definitely not a device that was unexpected either, as the Optimus G...

Simply put, I think the LG G Pro 2 is a solid evolution of the LG G2 design. While I went into the review expecting a phone that wasn’t much more than an attempt to cash in on the phablet trend, LG has definitely put in enough that I found the phone to...

LG G Pro 2 Review

With the LG G Pro 2 we've got what's essentially a mix and upgrade to the LG G2 and the LG G Flex . This device is just as massive as the curved-display monster and it works with many of the same specifications of LG's first hero device to work with...

LG has taken a great device in the LG G2 and has blown it up to a much larger size in the LG G Pro 2. Again, this isn’t so much a follow-up to last year’s LG G Pro, but a compliment to the LG G2 instead. Working with one of the finest processors on the...
