Like it was yesterday - the OnePlus One was introduced in 2014, and all of a sudden, it's 10 years later, and we have the OnePlus 12. This anniversary...

Excellent display, with Dolby Vision too.

IP65 rating when submersion-grade IP68 is the prevalent spec in the high-end segment.

In the end, the OnePlus 12 makes it quite easy for us. It's so great in many ways and only has small-ish missteps in just a couple of areas - that sounds like grounds for a recommendation.

In 2024, there's one thing conspicuously missing from the sales pitch for the OnePlus 12: AI. And you know what? That's fine. Great, even, depending on what you want out of your phone.

Excellent all-day-and-then-some battery life ; Big, vibrant display ; Top-tier processor and tons of storage, even at the base configuration ; Good camera with lovely color processing

Lacks full IP68 rating ; Four years of OS upgrades now lags behind category best

Review: OnePlus 12

OnePlus' new $800 Android phone has all the specs you'd want, and looks very polished to boot.

Snappy performance. Great battery life. Wireless charging is back. Fast wired charging. Snazzy design. Solid cameras. Works on all major US carriers. Will receive four Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates.

Only IP65 water-resistant. Curved display is ; so ; 2020.
