OnePlus 2 review

Like the Nexus 5, the OnePlus 2 is frill-free and thrill-free.

OnePlus 2 review: a worthy sequel, flaws and all

Smartphone aficionados have been clamoring for the OnePlus 2 since, well, the days of the OnePlus One. Now it's here, and it's mostly great, especially if you're looking for horsepower. The second-gen version looks more expensive than it is thanks to...

Smooth, fluid performance ; Great build quality ; Alert slider should be standard on all phones ; Did I mention the price?

Some lingering software bugs ; Still no expandable storage ; No NFC means no mobile payments ; Fingerprint sensor/home button is hit-or-miss

OnePlus has plenty to be proud of. After all, the company managed to make a phone that improved on the already-excellent original in every way that mattered. The OnePlus 2 is a powerful, well-built device, offering the best blend of price and...

OnePlus 2 Review

Like its predecessor the OnePlus 2 offers the specification of a high-end phone at a budget price point. The camera's 13MP resolution isn't anything out of the ordinary these days, but optical image stabilization and a laser-assisted AF system are...

OnePlus 2 review: High-end smartphone performance for half the price

The sequel to last year's OnePlus One comes with better hardware and design -- but is it really a 'flagship-phone killer'?

The OnePlus 2 offers high-end performance at a low price, while not skimping on design. The rear camera delivers pretty good pictures as well.

The phone lacks both fast and wireless charging and the USB Type-C port doesn't offer any performance benefits. Some software bugs hamper the user experience.

The OnePlus 2 offers powerful hardware and beautiful design at a comparatively low price, but availability through the OnePlus invite system makes it hard to acquire.

OnePlus 2 sandstone black

While the phone's good for its price, there are a few things that it's lacking, such as NFC (near-field communication) for mobile payments and pairing devices, fast charging and even wireless charging -- those have been omitted to keep costs down.

Review: OnePlus 2

The OnePlus 2 is a very good phone. But it's not a flagship killer.

329 unlocked is still a pretty good price. It's solid, sturdy. OxygenOS is a really nice take on Android

The camera's nowhere near finished. It has a dangerous tendency to overheat. Missing NFC and wireless charging

OnePlus 2 review

"Flagship killer." That loaded term has been bandied about by virtually every smartphone maker since the iPhone took the scene by storm eight years ago. OnePlus is the latest company to employ it...

Solid build-quality ; Fast performance ; Bargain price

Sluggish camera ; Type-C is more of a hassle than a benefit ; Boring design

OnePlus 2 review: You'll have to settle for one of the best sub-$400 phones

For all the features missing from the OnePlus 2, it still manages to deliver one of the best overall experiences in its price range.

For a phone with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage that costs less than $400, the OnePlus 2 delivers a lot. It’s fast, has a nice design, a good display, and a very good (if basic) camera. Performance is stellar, though the phone gets unreasonably hot at...

OnePlus 2 (Unlocked)

The OnePlus 2 offers unbeatable unlocked smartphone value, delivering top-end performance and features at a fraction of the cost of competitors—as long as you can get an invite to buy one.

Incredible price-to-performance ratio. High-end design. Clean Android software with useful tweaks.

Invite-only retail model. Runs warm. Some bugs.

Camera and Conclusions There's a 13-megapixel, rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization. The 1/2.6-inch OmniVision image sensor is the same physical size as the Sony IMX240 image sensor featured on the Galaxy S6. Image quality was very good...

The OnePlus 2 Review

In early 2014, there was a lot of excitement among Android enthusiasts for an upcoming smartphone called the OnePlus One. The company producing it was a Chinese manufacturer, and they were a new entrant to the smartphone space. OnePlus's marketing...

At $389, you can find much better smartphones, such as the Nexus 5X, or you can search for sales on phones like the Galaxy S6 or LG G4 if you're in a region where the Nexus phones end up being much more expensive than Google's price in North America....
