Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge review: Samsung's best phones in years

This more expensive version of the Galaxy S6 banks it all on looks. It performs just as well as its cousin in every task we threw at it, but the few software gimmicks that make use of the Edge's beautiful curved display just don't do much to justify...

Sturdy, stylish design ; Impeccable camera experience ; Great day-to-day performance ; TouchWiz is finallyworth using

Battery life could be better ; Fingerprint sensor can be flaky ; It's not waterproof ; No microSD or removable battery

I've never been a huge fan of Samsung phones. For years, the software felt too kludgy, the designs chintzy and scattershot. Not so this time. Samsung has in the S6 a flagship that feels well thought-out and complete in a way I wasn't sure the company...

Samsung Galaxy S6 review: The first great smartphone of 2015

The Galaxy S6 takes Samsung's upscale smartphone line to the next design level with a lustworthy metal-and-glass construction in a handset that matches the iPhone 6 one for one.

The upscale Samsung Galaxy S6's smooth glass-and-matte-metal body, improved fingerprint reader, and convenient new camera shortcut key make the phone a stunner. Samsung's decluttered take on Android 5.0 brings the beauty inside, too.

Longtime fans will bristle at the Galaxy S6's nonremovable battery and absent expandable storage. The phone has an intensely reflective backing and looks embarrassingly like the iPhone 6. Battery life, while good, falls short of last year's Galaxy.

Worldly looks and top-notch specs make the impressive, metal Samsung Galaxy S6 the Android phone to beat for 2015.

Samsung Galaxy S6 (Sprint)

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is the best Android flagship on Sprint with an attractive design, a brilliant display, a powerful processor, and a crisp new camera.

Attractive glass-and-metal design. Gorgeous display. Fast processor.

Lacks expandable memory and removable battery.

Software and Conclusions The 32GB Galaxy S6 on Sprint runs Android 5.1.1 and comes with 22.78GB of available storage. The bloatware is trimmed down here compared with previous generations of the flagship, but there is still a good amount. On the Sprint...

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active ( camo white)

Cloaked in blue or gray camouflage or all-black, the Active series evokes a sense of combat against day-to-day spills, drops and breaks, while also appealing to a class of people who engage in "active" lifestyles.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Active's long-lived battery and resistance to water, dust and scuffs make it more appealing than the regular Galaxy S6. Its shortcut button conveniently launches two different apps of your choice.

Built of plastic with thick edging, the S6 Active isn't a particularly attractive device, certainly not as glamorous as metal or glass phones. No expandable storage option means you're locked to 32GB.

AT&T customers looking for a sturdier handset will find the Galaxy S6 Active a worthy upgrade to an already top-caliber phone.

Samsung Galaxy S6 (AT&T)

The Galaxy S6 puts Samsung back on top with the best screen, processor, and body design of any Android-powered phone.

Gorgeous new design. Fastest processor and highest-quality display you can get on an Android phone.

No expandable memory.

Software and Conclusions With its lighter customized software load, the S6 retains more of its advertised storage than in years past. Our 32GB test unit came with 24.55GB available to users out of the box. There's a whole host of AT&T and Samsung...

Galaxy S6 review: Samsung's glorious return to greatness

It's hard to find much wrong with Samsung's new superphone.

Extremely battery efficient ; Posh metal and glass chassis ; Stellar camera performance, especially in low-light

There's still a bit of bloatware to contend with

With its stellar camera performance, powerful processor, and gorgeous metal and glass chassis, the Samsung Galaxy S6 is one of the best phones money can buy.

Review: Samsung Galaxy S6

This new Galaxy flagship is beautiful, it's powerful, it's really easy to use. It's the best Android phone you can buy right now.

Gorgeous, sleek design. The screen is so high-res it's ridiculous. The best camera this side of the iPhone 6, and you can launch it in an instant. Fast, powerful hardware everywhere you look

Still too much TouchWiz. The phone can feel a little slick in your hands. A lot of bloatware---but at least you can remove it

Samsung Galaxy S6 ( 32GB, topaz blue)

Gone is the utilitarian plastic build of every Galaxy S past. So long; bye-bye. In its place, the electronics giant paves both sides of its marquee phone in glass, and ties the package in an aluminum alloy bow. Samsung even tops itself with a double...

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge review

It's not okay to make a cheap-looking phone anymore. Now that Apple is finally making big phones, and even the cheapest Android phones feel nice, we all expect more from Samsung — and rightly...

Beautiful design ; Excellent camera ; Incredible screen

Average battery life ; Software still needs work ; No removable battery, expandable memory

The Galaxy S6 leaves much of its Galaxy S5 DNA behind. Perhaps even more shocking than this materials about-face are the decisions to seal in the battery and leave out a microSD card slot , both choices made in service to staying slim. These are...
