Galaxy S9 vs. Xperia XZ2 shootout

Samsung has the Plus, Sony has the Compact, but the two companies see the base size differently. It's these regular versions that we'll now be taking a closer look at - this is the Galaxy S9 versus Xperia XZ2 camera comparison.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus review: Excellent, not monumental

Despite not feeling like a major improvement over last year's flagship, the Galaxy S9 is still one of the best phones around.

Dual Aperture effective in low light ; Excellent cameras overall ; Speedy performance ; Long-lasting battery

Not a major improvement over last generation

Samsung Galaxy S9 review

The Galaxy S9 is a perfect-sized phone with a fantastic camera and great performance.

Excellent display ; Great 5.8-inch size ; Good speakers ; Strong performance ; Stunning low-light camera

Battery life is lower than competition ; Slow Android updates ; Camera not as versatile as S9 Plus

The Galaxy S9 is a comfortable and compact phone that offers a fantastic camera and great performance, but is it one of the best smartphones on the market? We do think the S9 Plus is worth it for the second, versatile camera, but the S9’s perfect size...

Samsung Galaxy S9

The Samsung Galaxy S9 puts the latest LTE bands and a great low-light camera into a smaller form factor than the S9+ for the best one-handed phone right now, but leaves a few things out.

Feels great in one hand. Excellent low-light camera performance. Better sound and network support than the Galaxy S8.

Not a radical upgrade from the Galaxy S8. Larger S9+ model has better cameras, more RAM, and stronger Wi-Fi performance.

Bottom Line: The Samsung Galaxy S9 puts the latest LTE bands and a great low-light camera into a smaller form factor than the S9+ for the best one-handed phone right now, but leaves a few things out.

Samsung Galaxy S9 review: Incrementally better in all the right places

Samsung's Galaxy S9 isn't the revolutionary design breakthrough that the Galaxy S8 was, but it's no less of a great phone.

The Infinity Display is even better than the one on the S8. ; Camera takes fantastic pics in all kinds of light. ; Fingerprint sensor is in a much better location.

Camera features like Dual Aperture and Super Slow-mo are a little gimmicky. ; AR Emoji is fun but not as advanced as Apple's Animoji. ; The single camera is great, but the S9+'s dual camera would have been better.

Anyone who’s in the market for a new phone should seriously consider buying an S9. It might be an insignificant upgrade in terms of physical design, but that’s a concern only if you really, really want people to know you have the latest and greatest...

Samsung Galaxy S9 review: predictably great, predictably flawed

The Galaxy S9 is all of the good and all of the bad we've come to expect from Samsung

Great design ; Beautiful display ; Fast performance ; Capable camera ; A headphone jack!

Average battery life ; Gimmicks galore ; Bixby still sucks ; Samsung has a poor history of updating its phones

Predictably, Samsung has made yet another excellent flagship phone. But, just as predictably, it still has plenty of room for improvement.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ Review: Exynos and Snapdragon at 960fps

Samsung's Galaxy S series over the years are the devices that most people associate with flagship Android experience. The company has been a constant in the mobile landscape while we've seen other players, either successfully or unsuccessfully, attempt...

Finally the recommendation of the Galaxy S9 will be based on which market you are in and which variant you’ll be able to purchase. The Snapdragon 845 variant in the US, China and Japan is a healthy upgrade over its predecessors and I don’t really have...

Samsung Galaxy S9 Smartphone Review

Galactic evolution. The Galaxy S9 is a great smartphone with powerful specifications and an excellent camera. Samsung unfortunately waives a dual-camera for this smartphone and reduced the RAM, but the price has nevertheless increased. We check if it...

appealing design ; great display ; fast SoC ; LTE Cat. 18 ; protected against water and dust ; expandable storage ; Dual-SIM SKU available (Duos) ; good sensor equipment ; USB 3.1 with DP, HDMI, and OTG ; great camera ; wireless charging ; Ultra HD...

can overheat under load ; videos at 60 FPS with a limited runtime ; no Dual-VoLTE ; long charging time ; warranty excludes damages caused by liquids

We prefer the Samsung Galaxy S9 over its larger sibling S9+. It is not as bulky and the dual-camera is not worth the additional price. The Korean manufacturer once again delivers a really great smartphone, but it is more of a facelift of last year's...

Samsung Galaxy S9 Review

The Samsung Galaxy S9 forces us to question upgrades for their own sake. On the one hand, there's our desire as consumers to have the very latest tech gadget, even if we don't even use the phone we have now to its full extent. For manufacturers,...

Galaxy S8's excellent design gets even better ; Screen, performance & battery all solid ; Camera capable of impressive low-light performance ; Price is competitive

Intelligent Scan trades security for convenience ; Super Slow-mo is 720p only and needs bright lighting ; Bixby still feels gimmicky
