Sony's Xperia XZ2 has an elegant all-glass design and delivers outstanding performance. None of its unique features are very exciting, however, and with the Galaxy S9 being an attractive alternative, it's not a must-buy.

The Xperia XZ2 has a dated look, despite Sony's redesign. Software features, such as 3D face scanning, aren't very useful. The placement of the fingerprint sensor makes it too easy to press the camera lens instead.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 is a solid phone, but we prefer the Huawei P20 Pro or the Samsung Galaxy S9.
