Fast PC ; Easy to upgrade
Open PCI Express X1 slots are blocked
Very fast, expensive PC with two graphics cards will appeal to hard-core gamers and graphics pros with deep pockets.

The Aurora 7500 is an excellent choice if multitasking is as important as stellar 3D performance. The dual-core CPU and dual SLI graphics cards make fast work of games and multimedia apps.
Excellent performance; distinctive design; quiet case; superb support.
Expensive; limited PCI slots; standard warranty of only one year.
The Aurora 7500 is an excellent choice if multitasking while using productivity apps is as important as stellar gaming performance.

Alienware is one of the more visible players in the gaming PC arena, and its Aurora 7500 SLI is nothing if not visible. It is a gaming PC through and through, and will boisterously announce your presence if you have the courage to schlep it to a gaming...
Distinctive case. Liquid cooling for overclocking and noise reduction. Overclocked graphics cards. Sound-deadening matting. 500GB of hard drive space. Astronomic performance
Graphics not liquid cooled. Pricey
If you have a preference for the Alienware brand, the Aurora will fulfill your gaming needs with aplomb. For the $5,600+ price that Alienware is charging for the Aurora, however, there are better choices in the gaming ranks.

Alienware's reputation for building high-end gaming systems precedes it, and the Aurora 7500 ($4,250 direct without monitor) is another good example of their handy work. Powered by an AMD FX-60, it's a high-performance PC for gamers, multimedia mavens,...
Good gaming performance. Not as expensive as 7900 Quad SLI systems. Tested configuration comes with Logitech gaming keyboard and mouse
Pricey for a system without monitor and speakers. Cooling fans are obnoxiously loud
The Aurora 7500 uses some excellent technology, but there are better choices out there.

Alienware was the first big-name boutique PC builder in the industry and basically created the idea of selling a high-end gaming system from scratch. Founded in 1996, the nearly decade-old Alienware was recently was purchased by Dell , feeding new...

Building a custom computer gives you a feeling of control over what you are getting from your computer. Although there is extra effort required in choosing parts, there is really not too much to consider, and even a small amount of research into what...
Overall this computer is a very powerful system, although it may be possible to put something together that is more suited to your needs, if you just need a very powerful computer, with good looks, and don't care much for building one by yourself, then...

Playing games on the high-end Aurora 7500 is a lifelike experience. But the complicated machine is not for tech novices.
How much PC can $2,750 buy? Quite a lot, judging from a close look at Alienware's Aurora 7500. In this series of reviews of high-end media PCs (see BW Online, 2/17/06, "Dell's High-End Home Run"), we're looking at just how much bang you can get for...

Laughing in the face of your normal price/performance balance, Alienware's Aurora 7500 is all high-end speed, top-drawer internal components and atten...
A gamers dream, Looks fantastic
Missing some key features, Extremely expensive, Short warranty
With its generous software bundle and great mouse, this is a superb system. Shame you'll have to remortgage the house to buy it, then spend even more on some essential features.

In terms of looks, performance and cost Alienware systems have always been out-of-this-world. The Aurora 5500 is an attempt at doing something a little more down to earth.

If you liked the look of yesterday's Alienware PC, but you're not a hardcore Star Wars fan, check out this turbocharged machine that our sister site Bit-Tech looked at recently. It's got twin GeForce 7800GTX cards and the same awesome build quality as...
