Lenovo's Horizon 2s: A real advance in portable, tabletop computing

This lightweight, portable, All-in-One sets new standards for multi-user recreational computing. But a noisy fan and the lack of an SSD option dampen the appeal.

Unique 360 degree interface ; Easily moved about ; Unique coffee table gaming abilities

Somewhat noisy fan ; No SSD option ; Less than 2-hour batter life

The Horizon 2s is a wonderful concept--a mobile desktop that you can move about the house, as well as use a board-game replacement for the coffee table. But it's expensive, there's no SSD option, and it...

Lenovo Horizon 2s

The Horizon 2s is the slimmer version of Lenovo's innovative portable all-in-one desktops. But thin isn't always better, since it limits this system's features and battery life a bit too much.

Nice price. Slim chassis. 1080p HD screen. 802.11ac Wi-Fi. Very little bloatware.

Non-adjustable stand. Hard drive instead of a solid-state drive. Short battery life compared with the competition. Stand is extra. No HDMI-in or -out. Only 4GB of memory.

If you're looking to try out portable all-in-one computing (and pledge to stay near a wall outlet), then the Lenovo Horizon 2s is an attractive system at a good price. However, the Lenovo Horizon 2e has a list price that's $200 less, and offers more...

Lenovo expands the Horizon tabletop PC line with new sizes and shapes (hands-on)

The premium Horizon 2s and mainstream Horizon 2e are half desktop, half giant tablet.

Lenovo Horizon 2s-F0AT0003US AIO Review

Expand your Horizon. The 19.5-inch Horizon 2s is Lenovo's follow-up to the 21.5-inch Horizon 2e "2-in-1 tabletop PC". The new model comes with a smaller fold-out kickstand and is much slimmer and lighter than its larger sibling. How the new AIO...

sleek appearance, IPS screen with good viewing angles, optional charging stand, decent performance

fan sound is annoying, gets fairly hot, hard drive performance not that great despite SSD cache, no expandability

The Horizon 2s is Lenovo's newest 2-in-1 system and as such it certainly delivers. We like the innovative Aura interface, which makes the table-top mode fun for everyone thanks to the preinstalled games and educational titles for the smallest family...

Lenovo Horizon 2s All-in-One PC Review

Offering lots of versatility for under $1,000, the Lenovo Horizon 2s succeeds at being both an entertaining tabletop game machine and a solid home desktop. The machine's unique Aura software suite makes it the perfect centerpiece for family game night,...

Engaging Aura interface with fun games ; Folds into table mode ; Crisp full HD display ; Slim, lightweight design ; Affordable

Charging stand not included

The Lenovo Horizon 2s' slim design and unique tabletop experience make it an impressively versatile all-in-one PC for the family.

Lenovo Horizon 2s review

The portable all-in-one computer that doesn't go far enough.

Nice anti-glare touchscreen ; Performs well ; Aura software can be fun

Short battery life ; Can get very hot ; Hard to get out of stand

The Lenovo Horizon 2s sports nice features, but short battery life and quirks make it a less than ideal computing experience.

Lenovo expands the Horizon tabletop PC line with new sizes and shapes (hands-on)

One PC trend that started strong last year but then seemed to lose steam is the tabletop PC. These systems straddle the line between all-in-one desktop and giant tablet, essentially taking a slim all-in-one desktop, adding a battery and kickstand, and...

The Horizon 2s will be available later in September, starting at $949, with the charging stand going for $89. The Horizon 2e is coming in October, starting at $749.

Consumer review (walmart.com)

Worst buying decision of the year.

I purchased the Horizon 2s with the thought of using it as a large drawing tablet. I never got as far as trying that use out. The machine had problems from day one. Support was ineffective, though they did offer to sell me a higher level of service....

Kickstand

This is a great computer. The only think that I would improve on is the stability of the kickstand. To me, two kickstands or a wider one would be better for balance at least in my application for use.

Good computer, but needs more

Overall a fairly good computer. Have to expect a bit of slowness with the i3, the only big issue is there is no way to order with an SSD so if you want one, you have to install it later. Not a big deal, but if you want to install the software that...
