On paper, Canon's PowerShot G16 has specs that match those of DSLR and CSC cameras. Unfortunately, a small sensor holds it back from its full potential.
Although Canon has made some strides with the G16 – closing the spec gap with CSCs and DSLRs on paper – we can’t give it our strongest recommendation. At $550 it’s just too expensive for the level of quality it delivers. We suggest anyone looking for...

If you want a smaller camera that's easier to carry than a DSLR—but you don't want to sacrifice the control options—take a look at the Powershot G16.
Almost as many features asa DSLR ; Excellent build quality
LCD doesn't tilt
The PowerShot G16 is a compact workhorse camera that’s hard to beat. It has a rock-solid build quality, a DSLR-like feature set, and great-looking picture quality.

The Canon PowerShot G16 offers an impressive control layout and Wi-Fi, but its underwhelming optical viewfinder disappoints.

The Canon PowerShot G16 adds a few cool new features compared to its predecessor, but is that enough to make it worth buying? We've been shooting with one for a while, and we've compiled our early findings in this article.

There aren't a lot of updates for the new entrant in the G series, but the camera does gain in overall performance.
The ; produces very good photos in bright light, and the fast lens, optical viewfinder, and relatively streamlined design make it nice to use. Plus, it finally delivers solid continuous shooting.
A mediocre Wi-Fi implementation, no articulated LCD, and lack of manual controls while shooting video are among the ways in which the G16 lags behind the competition. And other cameras deliver better photos in low light.
While the Canon PowerShot G16 is better than the G15 and remains a nice enthusiast compact, its low-light photo quality disappoints for the money.

Don't let the high price tag on the PowerShot G16 cause you to skip past this camera, even if you own the G15 already. The upgrade of the image processor inside the G16 gives it noticeably stronger performance speed and image quality versus its...

The Canon PowerShot G16 is a new premium compact camera. The Canon G16 has a 12.1 megapixel 1/1.7-type CMOS sensor, new DIGIC 6 image processor, 3-inch 922,000-dot LCD screen, 5x 28-140mm equivalent zoom lens with fast maximum apertures of f/1.8 -...
The Canon PowerShot G16 is a rather modest update of last year's G15 camera, principally making things faster and adding wi-fi connectivity, focus peaking and some new shooting modes into the now familiar mix. We like the faster auto-focus and burst...

The Canon PowerShot G16 is the much awaited upgrade to the G15, bringing in WiFi connectivity and a BSI sensor. Canon also upgraded its image processing chip to Digic 6. However, all this fits in the same size as its predecessor, the camera looks just...
