Fujifilm FinePix A900 review

Fujifilm FinePix A900

A 9-megapixel digital camera; nice lens; accepts both xD and SD memory cards.

Slow performance; heavy processing artifacts; strangely placed manual controls and settings.

This digital camera puts 9-megapixel stills into an affordable price range, but only if you can put up with its slow speed and confusing quirks.

FujiFilm's FinePix A900 won't suit experienced photographers, but if all you're after is a basic point and shoot model without the bells and whistles it may satisfy your needs.

Sharp pictures, good colour, 9-megapixel sensor

Sluggish at times, no burst mode, lacklustre feature set

Fujifilm FinePix A900

The Fujifilm FinePix A900 puts 9-megapixel stills into an affordable price range, but only if you can put up with its slow speed and confusing quirks.

9-megapixel resolution ; Nice lens ; Accepts both xD and SD memory cards

Slow performance ; Heavy processing artifacts ; Strangely placed manual controls and settings

The Fujifilm FinePix A900 is a conundrum, torn between the worlds of high-end, high-resolution cameras and budget point and shoots. Its sensor and lens, the hearts of any camera, work well. However, its slow performance, bizarrely uneven feature set,...

Fuji Finepix A900

If you are looking for a simple, cheap digital camera then the Fuji Finepix A900 could be it. Emphasis really is on ease of use and you will struggle to find a more straightforward digital camera. Picture quality holds up well in daylight.

Easy to use

Picture quality indoors with flash - small internal memory

The Fuji Finepix A900 is one of the easiest digital cameras on the market. It really is a no fuss and no frills digital camera. It takes a decent snapshot in most situations.

Consumer review (newegg.com)

It's ok...

It's supposed to be 9.0 MP but, as another reviewer noticed, and like other Fujifilm cameras I've had recently (an 8.0MP one), it isn't REALLY 9.0MP. If you look at 1:1 you can CLEARLY see granularity in the photos, even on fine. I am 99% sure this is...

It's a good price for 9.0 MP and performs well in normal light situations outdoors

Indoor performance, even in the scene positions, is lacking. It tends to focus on the closest object rather than the one in the center, and the one in the center (if in focus) isn't the object that the flash focuses on ; Outdoor performance is ok as...
