Fujifilm X-A2

The Fujifilm X-A2 is a very capable mirrorless camera, but it's a little pricey for an entry-level model.

Solid image quality. 5.6fps burst shooting. Attractive design. Sharp kit lens. Built-in flash. Selfie LCD. Wi-Fi.

A little slow to focus. Doesn't support add-on EVF. No remote control via Wi-Fi. Video limited to 1080p30. No mic input.

Performance and Conclusions The X-A2 starts and captures an in-focus image in about 1.6 seconds, focuses in 0.15-second, and can shoot at up to 5.6fps in continuous mode. It's not the speediest mirrorless camera in terms of startup, but it's not as...

Fujifilm X-A2

The Fujifilm X-A2 offers very high image quality, while giving relatively inexperienced photographers plenty of easy-to-use features as they're migrating from a beginner-level camera to this mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. The X-A2 also has all...

Very good image quality ; RAW and JPEG formats available ; Plenty of automatic and manual control shooting options ; Good performance times overall ; Can shoot at up to 5.6 frames per second in burst mode with the right lens attached ; Popup flash...

Limited movie recording to 30 frames per second ; Back panel control buttons could be a little bigger ; Mode dial could be smaller, as it has too many options ; Touchscreen LCD would be nice to have in this type of camera ; No viewfinder option...

Fujifilm X-A2 Review

The Fujifilm X-A2 is a new entry-level compact system camera designed to take better selfies, thanks to its 175° tilting LCD screen with face and eye detection. Key features of the X-A2 include a 16.3-megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, newly-developed Eye...

The new Fujifilm X-A2 is a very modest upgrade of the X-A1, but the few improvements that Fujifilm have made are important ones for the camera's main target market of compact-camera and smartphone upgraders looking to take their first step into the...

Fujifilm X-A2 Review

The Fuji X-A2 feels designed for both new, step-up photographers as well as more experienced ones who expect additional physical controls. And though it lacks the fancy X-Trans sensor of higher-end Fuji cameras, the image quality is rather impressive...

Very good image quality; Great high ISO performance for its class; Very good optical performance from the kit lens; Decent battery life; Very good value for the money

No built-in EVF; Slower than average full autofocus shutter lag in testing; Sluggish continuous AF for stills & video; Mediocre burst speeds; Limited dynamic range with JPEGs; No remote control with Wi-Fi

Camera Review: Fujifilm X-A2

With the X-A line, Fujifilm squeezes the esthetics of its X-series into a budget- and selfie-friendly design.

Good battery life; tilting display; video recording in Fuji film modes; close focusing with kit lens

Insubstantial build; memory card difficult to dislodge; continuous shooting slower than comparable models

There are many capable mirrorless cameras selling for about what the X-A2 is asking, and there’s no unambiguous winner. Sony’s A6000, for instance, offers a higher-resolution sensor, twice-as-fast continuous shooting and more versatile video...

Fujifilm X-A2: A competent performer for the budget conscious

Can you have a retro looking APS-C mirrorless camera for under S$900? Fujifilm thinks so with its X-A2. We take the company's latest entry level mirrorless camera through its paces to tell you how it performs.

Great value considering you get an APS-C sensor with a competent kit lens ; Wi-Fi is built-in so you can shoot direct to a smart device ; Tilting LCD is now more versatile ; Good detail in images

Still no X-Trans sensor ; Eye detect AF is still a little slow ; Seems to underexpose slightly ; Could use less plastic in both body and kit lens

Overall, we’d say that the X-A2 is a fairly competent camera that should more than meet the needs of first-time users who are moving into the world of interchangeable lens cameras. For under a thousand dollars, you get a camera with a larger APS-C...

Fujifilm X-A2 Mirrorless Camera Review: Good for Beginners

There's strong competition at this price level, and the X-A2's features seem dated (no 1080/60p video, for example, let alone 4K). But Fujifilm's photographs continue to impress, and you won't miss the extra megapixels of other mirrorless cameras once...

Excellent still image quality ; Lightweight and compact ; Fast response and autofocus ; Flip-up LCD for selfies.

Occasional glare on LCD ; No touch screen ; Poor video quality.

The X-A2 is an affordable mirrorless camera option for moving beyond smartphone-cam limitations without losing the ability to take selfies and share photos.

Fuji X-A2

Fuji X-M1. It features a typical 16 megapixels APS-C CMOS sensor with Bayer and Anti-Alias filters, plus a second generation EXR II processor which captures full-resolution images at 5.6 FPS and 1080p HD video at 30 FPS.

Extremely low image noise until ISO 1600, Good dynamic-range, Nicely saturated colors, Good LCD visibility and viewing angle, High number of external controls, Efficient ergonomics

Tendency to over-expose, General image softness, Slow autofocus, Below average shot-to-shot speeds, 1s Delay to start video capture, Poor AWB accuracy, Dials moves too easily

Fuji Fujinon XC16-50mm F/3.5-5.6 OIS II included as kit-lens.
