Leica M10-D

Leica continues its LCD-free rangefinder camera series with the M10-D, which adds a faux film advance lever to completely sell its retro look.

Bright optical viewfinder. Legacy lens compatibility. Quiet shutter. 24MP full-frame sensor. Dust- and splash-resistant body. Works with add-on EVF. Real leather body cover. Wi-Fi.

Very niche appeal. Omits video.

Bottom Line: Leica continues its LCD-free rangefinder camera series with the M10-D, which adds a faux film advance lever to completely sell its retro look.

Leica M10-P

The Leica M10-P camera is a more discrete version of the M10, with less obvious branding, a quieter shutter, and a new touch LCD.

Big, bright optical viewfinder with focusing patch. Compatible with lenses dating back to the 1930s. Very quiet focal plane shutter. 24MP full-frame image sensor. Dust- and splash-resistant build. Add-on EVF available. Wi-Fi.

Expensive. Rangefinders are not for everyone. No video recording. No Android support for Wi-Fi.

Bottom Line: The Leica M10-P is a more discrete version of the M10, with less obvious branding, a quieter shutter, and a new touch LCD.

Leica M10

The Leica M10 camera improves upon its predecessor, upping performance and slimming down the body. It's a solid, albeit pricey, choice for rangefinder devotees.

Optical viewfinder. Rangefinder manual focus. 24MP full-frame image sensor. 4.8fps image capture. Crisp rear display. Integrated Wi-Fi. Dust- and splash-resistant design. Add-on EVF available.

Very expensive. Manual focus isn't for everyone. Omits video.

The M10 isn't as drastic of an upgrade as the M (Typ 240) was the M9. While the camera has a new image sensor with a much greater ISO range, it doesn't offer an increase in overall resolution. The same is true for the rear LCD and Live View...

The M U want: Leica M10 First Impressions Review and Samples

Shooting with the Leica M10 for the past few days has been a lot of fun, but every good conclusion should include some criticisms, and inevitably, there are several things about the M10 that I don’t like.
