The D3200 represents the latest generation of Nikon's entry-level DSLR offering. The camera's headline feature is inevitably the new 24MP CMOS sensor which makes it equal to Sony's Alpha SLT-A65, A77 and NEX-7 in offering the highest pixel count we've...
Good detail at low ISOs (with good lenses) Well-balanced noise reduction at higher sensitivities, decent noise levels Relatively low raw noise levels allow for custom processing in raw conversion Good quality video output Decent buffer and burst rates...
Slightly soft output at a pixel-level Tendency to slightly overexpose in bright contrasty conditions Unintuitive setting of aperture in movie mode No 'live-preview' of aperture changes in live -view No dedicated ISO button (but you can set the...

The Nikon D3200 is a very capable and compact digital SLR. Its Guide Mode is perfect for beginners, and the camera offers enough manual controls to satisfy more advanced photographers.
Compact. Good quality at high ISOs. Guide Mode for beginners. Continuous video autofocus. Mic input.
Small pentamirror viewfinder. Fixed LCD. Kit lens could be better.
Aside from EV Compensation, shutter speed, and aperture, which are visible in the viewfinder, you'll need to use the rear 3-inch LCD to view settings as you adjust them. The 4:3 display is quite bright and sharp thanks to a 921k-dot resolution, but it...

Nikon D3200 (with 18-55mm VR lens
With reasonably fast performance and very good photo quality, the ; delivers what you expect from a dSLR.
The camera's lackluster feature set, some underwhelming design changes, and photos that don't necessarily surpass its predecessor may disappoint.
A solid if unexceptional entry-level dSLR, the Nikon D3200 should still please most folks looking for an upgrade from their point-and-shoots.

The Nikon D3200 has a lot of the same or similar components to the D3100, including the same autofocus system (bolstered by Nikon's newer scene-recognition technology) and viewfinder, it's got a newer, higher resolution sensor coupled with Nikon's...

Nikon has just announced an all new entry-level dSLR, the D3200. Despite its sub-$700 kit MSRP, this camera is packed with advanced as well as many beginner features to help photographers of all levels take that important step from point-and-shoot to...

The Nikon D3200 is an entry-level digital SLR camera boasting a newly designed 24.2 megapixel DX format APS-C sensor and the same EXPEED 3 processor as the flagship D4 DSLR. The D3200 also boasts a 3 inch 921k-dot LCD monitor, one-touch full 1080p HD...
With its huge 24 megapixel sensor, the entry-level D3200 instantly becomes the highest-resolution APS-C DX format Nikon DSLR, and it offers more pixels than any competing manufacturer too. Compared to the 18-month-old D3100, Nikon has managed to...

Nikon adds some significant resolution to its latest entry-level DSLR, the simple but sophisticated 24.2-megapixel D3200, which produces decent image quality even in low light at high ISOs. With a compact, comfortable and more ergonomic design than the...
High resolution allows cropping; Good performance in low light; Compact and comfortable, highly portable; Fast and responsive, just begs to take pictures; Quiet shutter is great for candids
Mediocre kit lens; Might be too small for some; No bracketing; Narrow flash coverage; Matrix metering tends to overexpose
We've been fans of most Nikon entry-level digital SLRs since the D40 debuted back in 2006. As the latest addition to this popular line, the Nikon D3200 increases the resolution significantly with a 24.2-megapixel CMOS sensor.

Small, lightweight, and inexpensive, the D3200 is easily the best entry-level DSLR on the market.
The D3200’s most exciting new feature is clearly the new 24-megapixel image sensor, which is partly responsible for the camera’s strong improvement in sharpness over the D3100. Sadly, when it comes to image quality, the excitement ends there. With few...

($699) is the entry-level camera in Nikon's digital SLR line-up. It's designed to be consumer friendly (in terms of both price and features), but Nikon didn't skimp on features here. The D3200 features a whopping 24.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor, 4 frame/sec...
As you can see, the D3200 is better than its predecessor in almost all respects, with the exception of battery life and viewfinder size, both of which have dropped slightly
