Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7's excellent 4K capture will appeal to you if video is a priority, but its plastic body may be a turnoff.

4K video. Built-in EVF. Vari-angle touch LCD. Dual control dials. Speedy performance. 4K Photo and Post Focus modes. Built-in flash.

Tracking focus slows burst rate. Not available as a body only. Plastic build.

Conclusions The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 is one of the better mirrorless cameras you can buy. Even though it lacks the stellar build quality of the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II, its image quality is just a step behind APS-C models at high ISOs, and the...

Panasonic Lumix G7 review: For active families, this mirrorless camera is a great dSLR alternative

This full-featured mirrorless interchangeable-lens model makes a surprisingly good alternative to a midpriced dSLR.

For the money, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 delivers great photo and video, excellent performance and a broad feature set.

It's another in a long line of Panasonic cameras with proprietary USB connectors and some people might find it too complicated.

A great mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera for families and travelers, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 is a compelling alternative to similarly priced dSLRs.

Panasonic Lumix G7 (body only, black)

The G7 comes in solid black or a two-tone graphite and black, in a variety of kits worldwide: one with a 14-42mm lens ($800, £680, AU$1,000), one with a 14-140mm lens ($1,100, £850, AU$1,500), one with both lenses (AU$1,200), and body only (£600,...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 Review

The Panasonic G7 is a direct descendant of the first ever mirrorless camera. Yet, despite this, the last thing it's trying to be is a mirrorless camera. Instead it's trying to be a non-specific interchangeable lens camera: a camera where you don't have...

Solid image quality in both Raw and JPEG 4K (UHD) video Built-in Wi-Fi with comprehensive set of features 4K Photo mode with clever pre-burst option for grabbing stills from video In-camera Raw conversion for post-shot re-processing Super-fast focus...

Mechanical shutter causes some softness at around 1/100th exposures Number of external controls make the camera seem more complex than it is Dated Q.Menu is over-complex Touchscreen control tabs leave the screen a bit cluttered (though they can be...

I started this review by stating that I believe the G7 is trying to be a non-specific ILC, rather than draw attention to its mirrorless nature. There are aspects to the user experience, such as the seamless viewfinder/ rear LCD operation (in...

Panasonic Lumix G 7-14mm F4 Lens Review

The Lumix G Vario 7-14mm F4 ASPH was the third lens Panasonic announced for its fledgling Micro Four Thirds system, back in March 2009. It certainly created a significant buzz on release, with the company taking advantage of the short back focus of the...

Extraordinarily small for such a wide lens ; Very good image quality ; Extremely fast, practically silent autofocus with minimal 'breathing ; Impressively resistant to flare

Does not accept filters ; Fairly strong lateral chromatic aberration at the widest settings when used on Olympus bodies ; High price (much more expensive than Olympus 9-18mm F4-5.6)

The Panasonic Lumix G Vario 7-14mm F4 is a remarkable lens - it may not be the widest angle zoom currently made (an honor held jointly by Sigma's 12-24mm for full frame and 8-16mm for APS-C), but its combination of ultra-wide view and compact size is...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7

The Panasonic Lumix G7 is a compact, powerful and affordable ILC. It is the perfect camera for anyone looking to be ready for any situation, either shooting stills or 4K video. Coming in well under $1,000, it is a must see for anyone looking for an ILC...

iAuto and Program shooting modes are accurate and easy in all situations ; Dedicated Video Capture Button is always ready to record ; Outstanding image quality for both still images and video ; Excellent performance ; Mega O.I.S. on the included kit...

Lacks internal image stabilization that has been noticeably more effective that being built into the lenses ; Higher ISO settings are way to noisy to be used ; No NFC for quick connections to smartphones

A Review of the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G7KS 4K Mirrorless Camera

The Lumix DMC-G7KS 4K mirrorless camera is yet another excellent example of a recent convergence that's been steadily going on in the world of ultra HD digital photography . Namely we're talking about the trend towards superbly built, highly precise...

Excellent 4K video recording options ; 4K Photo mode for 8MP stills at 30 fps ; Vibrant photo and video quality ; Great 16 megapixel still shots ; Reasonable price

Not so great at low light photography or video ; Panasonic USB connections are a bit annoying

Our bottom line is that this camera is a worthwhile buy for people who wnt something portable, reliable and affordable that can do great 4K video and high resolution photography under lit conditions.
