Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ10 Review

The DMC-LZ10 could well prove to be the unsung hero of Panasonic's new range of Lumix cameras. It doesn't have the longest telephoto lens, or the widest, it isn't the slimmest or the lightest, and it isn't the cheapest. But the Panasonic DMC-LZ10 is...

The new Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ10 could easily go completely unnoticed in a sea of look-a-like compact digital cameras, but is actually one of the more interesting models currently available on the market. The rather conservative styling, fairly compact...

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LZ10 Review

Panasonic has always had a stronghold in the digital camera market, since they have been somewhat cheaper alternatives to Leica cameras but use the same Leica lenses. Today we're taking a look at the 10.1 megapixel compact DMC-LZ10.

Decent image quality ; Wide-angle 30mm Leica lens ; Slew of manual controls and scene modes

Only takes AA batteries ; No optical viewfinder ; Image noise a huge issue ; Small grip

The LZ10 has a 30mm wide-angle Leica lens and a 5x optical zoom which allows you to fit more in a photo than with a 35mm lens for landscape shots and more. The 5x zoom also can be boosted to 8.9x thanks to the Extra Optical Zoom function. The camera...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ10 Review

Few camera companies seem to be creating waves with compact point-and-shoot cameras like Panasonic. Panasonic cameras are now widely respected thanks to Leica-branded lenses, combined with features, performance, and build quality that rival anything...

Wide-angle range more than most, Full range of manual controls, Good color, minimal processing, Excellent ISO performance (in its class), Customizable noise reduction settings

Lens suffers from varying degrees of edge softness, Focus speed a little slower than expected, Questionable flash pictures, Strange color temperature changes with ISO increase, Plastic grip pad isn't comfortable

The PanasonicLumix DMC-LZ10 ($249) is a fairly compact cameraoffering a 10 Megapixel CCD, a wide 5X, 30 - 150 mm lens, a gorgeous 2.5" LCDdisplay, widescreen movie recording, and more. It, along with its little brother(the DMC-LZ8) are the replacements...

Very good photo quality, less noise reduction than previous models (though see issues below), Wide-angle, 5X optical zoom lens, Optical image stabilization, Compact, generally well constructed body, Sharp 2.5" LCD display with excellent outdoor...

Images a bit noisy, especially in shadows; noise reduction still very present in low light, Redeye a big problem, Poor low light focusing, No optical viewfinder, Not much built-in memory, Plastic tripod mount, No USB 2.0 High Speed support, Camera...

With a 5x zoom lens and manual exposure options, is the LZ10 a pocket camera for enthusiasts?

Panasonic DMC LZ10

The Panasonic DMC LZ10 is a 10 megapixel digital camera with a 5x optical zoom lens. Its main attractions are the features it offers for a fairly low price tag. The features include a fully manual exposure mode.

Ease of use - wide screen movies

Shutter delay could be that little faster, especially with flash

I would have liked to have seen a touch more sharpness and a touch more brightness in some of the shots I took with the Panasonic DMC LZ10. It has a good set of features and is available for a reasonable price.

Panasonic Lumix LZ10

As well as full manual control, this offers intelligent auto

While image quality in auto mode is not great with the versatile creative control you can always improve your pictures.
