Ricoh Caplio R6 Review

The Ricoh Caplio R6 is a very compact digital camera that easily fits in the palm of your hand, measuring 99.6(W) x 55.0 (H) x 23.3mm (D) and weighing around 135g. This is one camera that you truly won't notice carrying in a trouser/shirt pocket or a...

Just 6 months on from the R5 model, the new Ricoh R6 arrives, at first glance with few new standout features. The must-have feature for all compact digicams in 2007, Face Recognition, is supposedly the headline addition to the R6, but as with most of...

Expert Review

The Ricoh Caplio R6 is a solid compact camera that captures above average pictures and manages to cram a big, wide angled zoom lens into a relatively compact package.

Stylish design, 7.1x optical zoom, Wide-angle lens, Great burst mode

Some colour representation issues, Slow shutter speed

Ricoh Caplio R6

Is this the best all-round compact camera on the market?

The Ricoh Caplio R6 is a fantastically versatile all-round camera, an improvement in almost every way on the already impressive R5, offering a winning combination of style, build quality, performance and image quality. It is loaded with more features...

Ricoh Caplio R6 Black review

Ricoh plays for keeps in both the wide and telephoto stakes

Very good price ; Good range of features

Minor picture flaws on close inspection

Another solid effort from Ricoh. It's quick to respond, while delivering sharply focused images 99% of the time

Ricoh Caplio R6

With the R6, Ricoh proves its Caplio range is still producing great point and shoot models, offering impressive zoom capabilities and a strong feature set.

7.1x optical wide zoom lens ; Impressive feature set ; Slimmer and more ergonomic than predecessors

Slower shutter release ; No photo review from start-up

The R6 is slimmer, has a bigger display and a few new, useful features. When considering this camera, ask yourself -- is it worth an extra AU$100 for some extra pocket room and a few more features?

Ricoh Caplio R6 compact digital camera

The word ‘awesome' has lost a lot of its impact, but it's more than justifiable to use it when summing up the Ricoh Caplio R6. The unbelievably compact Ricoh Caplio R6 boasts not only a 35mm equivalent 28-200mm zoom lens, but an array of old and new...

If you're after a point-and-click camera, then the Ricoh Caplio R6 isn't for you. The shutter lag is dreadful but, admittedly, can be improved by turning off the shake correction. But if you want a pocket-sized zoom camera that can handle virtually any...

Ricoh - Caplio R6

Ricoh's Caplio R6 is billed as 'The world's thinnest digital camera with a 28mm wide-angle, 7.1x optical zoom lens'. So if a thinner camera with a 29mm wide-angle, 7.1x optical zoom lens came along, it presumably ...

The Caplio R6 is a very well specified digital compact camera that's easy to use and provides useful assistance in getting good shots. While it's not as foolproof as Ricoh might like us to believe, the extra range of the lens in particular sets it...

Ricoh Caplio R6

The Ricoh Caplio R6 Digital Camera is the world's smallest digital camera with a wide angle 7.1x optical zoom lens, it has a 7 megapixel sensor, a 2.7 inch screen, and high ISO settings.

Very compact and stylish with a solid metal body (will easily fit in pockets) - smaller than previous models ; Built in Vibration Reduction image stabilisation helps acheive blur free low-light / zoom photos ; Larger 2.7" screen, with 230,000 pixels ;...

The Ricoh Caplio R6 has improved on the Ricoh Caplio R5 in a number of ways, most noticable is the camera's smaller, more stylish body, and larger screen, the improved zoom control is also a very welcome addition. Image quality is very good, especially...

Ricoh Caplio R6 Black

With manufacturers falling over themselves to differentiate their compacts from the alternatives, Ricoh's update of the R5, the R6, is cumbersomely described as 'the world's thinnest camera with a 28mm wide angle, 7.1x optical zoom lens'

Very good price, Good range of features

Minor picture flaws on close inspection

Another solid effort from Ricoh. It's quick to respond, while delivering sharply focused images 99% of the time
